Travel to Hawaii on a budget

I'm reminiscing about my vacation this time last year in Hawaii. I went for 3 glorious weeks. I got to visit Oahu, Kauai, and the Big Island. I would highly recommend a vacation to Hawaii to anyone, anytime. It is so beautiful, and the people are so nice, the water is awesome, there is so much to do, and many other great things. What I would recommend is planning in advance. If you can do that, you can do a Hawaii vacation for a reasonable price. We got our roundtrip airfare for $500. We booked our tickets online through travelocity, but there are other sites that are just as good. Just comparison shop.
There were 4 of us, so we rented condos(instead of staying in hotels) and split the costs, plus we were able to cook our own meals and didn't eat out as much. For the 3 weeks, I think that the condos in total were only $950 per person.
We found out that there is a lot to do there for free, so that worked out well. Don't get me wrong, we did spend money, we were just careful about it. In all, I spent about $2,200 for 3 weeks in Hawaii, all inclusive.
