 President Bush's newly married daughter, Jenna Hager, seemed to offer her family's Texas ranch to Ellen DeGeneres as a wedding location for DeGeneres to marry her longtime girlfriend, Portia de Rossi, according to a report by People magazine

So Ellen may be getting married at Crawford Ranch. What do you think of this? Do you think it actually happen? Ellen asked McCain to walk her down the isle when he was on her show. That would be a site to see, the wedding at the presidents ranch with the republican candidate walking her down the isle. I am serious. As a conservative, I still believe that they should have the right to marry. It is time to show the world that not ALL republicans are against g&y marriage. I know neither will happen, but the fact that it is talked about might mean the party is finally moving in the right direction on this issue.

I think it is modern day discrimination that most states do not give them the same rights as everyone else. I think a lot of conservatives (not all) feel the same way. It is just that the ones against it get all the air time on the news and makes them all look bad.
I doubt it will happen, but the fact that high profile members of the party are talking about it positively is a very good step in teh right direction.

I know she doesn't fully agree with her father on every single issue, but to offer his property for Ellen's wedding (when George has made it very clear he opposes the right of gays to marry) seems over-the-top.
Would George allow it? He's still trying to be relevant in the Republican political process, and he endorsed McCain.
If they did the legal stuff at a CA courthouse, but just had the ceremony in TX, it would be a legal marriage in CA.
