 I have got a friend who enjoys biting ice cubes. Each time we eat out, she will request for more ice in her drinks. In fact, when she is not feeling embarrassed, she will ask for her drink without ice, and then a separate cup of only-ice.
I once read that ice is harder than concrete so when you bite ice, you are like biting concrete (or worse). I stopped biting after that. I just suckle the cube till it melts.

I used to love crunching on ice cubes when i was younger - unfortunalty now i have very sensetive teeth and anything cold is really painfull so i have had to quit the ice in drinks alltogether!

But, beware that ice is slippery by nature, and if it slips down into your throat, you could be in a real pickle. it happened to me once. Thankfully, I was able to cough out the cube, before I choked on it!
