Sharon Stone thinks Chinese earthquake was Karma

I think that is a mean & cruel thing to say. She should be ashamed of herself. Does she realize how many people have lost thier lives so far? Families who have yet to find the bodies of other family members? It will take years for these people to get their lives back & to say something like that is not only cruel it is also inhuman. All of China is not responsable for what their government does anymore then we are responsable for what our governemt must surely do that we don't even know about. My heart goes out to those people. Sharon Stone should be getting on her hands & knees thanking God that no one she knows & loves is going through what those poor people in China are going through.

People are going to think and say whatever they think or say-celebrity or not. Sometimes its wrong, sometimes its wrong, often its hurtful, rude, or just really out there. Sure, we judge, its not our place to, but we all do. Why do we have the fault lines, why do they happen when they happen? Too many questions and not enough answers.

nice disclaimer.^_^ I dont think that anyone was to blame for it but sometimes I do think that its nature's way of saying enough. Not because of what the government of a country has done to some people, no not like that. Im thinking more of in general terms. All of these catastrophes are happening more than normal or average because we have been unkind to the very world we live in. We are abusing it and so it has retaliated back or in other terms we have done much damage that it actually manifests in physical effects. But I guess thats another discussion. I have to be honest though, keeping in line with us abusing nature, well, I would be a hypocrite if I dont admit that I thought, this happened to China maybe because the land cant handle anymore people. It was nice that country was doing good to suppress the overpopulation but the land hold out as much as it could but I guess it couldnt hold out anymore that it just caved in. I might be wrong to think that but I have thought it and I cant unthink what I have already thought of.

As for Ms Sharon Stone, saying things like that in public and at a festival at that just seems so insensitive and just plain clueless. Hope she sets it right in time..^_^

Oh well, so many people who have been warm, well-fed, and comfortable when the earthquake struck Chinese turning so many lives topsy-turvy are making all sorts of comments about it. Frankly it makes me sick. Why do people who are safe from calamities make such comments? I have heard more disgusting statements... someone in a local paper went so far as to say that they have been "Punished by God." Whew! Could someone invent something to control people's tongues please? If people want to do something, let them do something to help; otherwise just do everyone a favor and keep quiet and not pass hurting or judgmental comments. Wonder how Ms Stone would feel if she fell sick and someone told her, "Oh Sharon, it is your Karma?"

Sorry. as one who believes biblical prophesy, I tend to think we are in what has been referred to as "The last days".
As such, seismic events, diseases, pestilence are all supposed to increase as the day of Christ's return approaches.
So as terrible as this may be, it has been suggested that 1/4 of the worlds population will see death and calamity before Jesus returns to settle things down.

This does not in anyway make the losses of anyone's family and friends any easier. I cannot imagine the torment of knowing a loved one is not only dead, but may have suffered horribly before the final moments.

And I rejoice with those whose family and friends are recovered alive. They will know joy that I may never see.

Her's was a political statement meant to bring shame on a government that has no conscience. I don't think even Sharon could be so heartless towards the despair taking place there.

...it wouldn't make sense anyway as the Chinese people are not treated all that great by their government (as far as freedom goes, I hear)... and it's not very likely it's the Chinese people who mistreat Tibet..

This is the reason that celebrities and other public figures have a publicist and why that make statements to the press as opposed to just talking with them. I just don't get why some celebrities say such stupid stuff. I understand they are in the public eye 24/7, but nothing would possess me to say something like this out loud, much less at a press conference.

Thank god their job requires them to memorize lines as opposed to coming up with them on their own.

I think that is a horrible thing to say. First of all, if that is what she believes ok, but one thing is the goverment paying for what they are doing to those people by the justice sistem and another thing is an earthquake that kills alot of innocent people. Those people shouln't pay for the errors of their goverment. I do believe that what goes around comes around and they will be punished but in a fair way.

OMG was she for real? Yes there are a lot of issues with China and its authorities but that is NOTHING to do with this awful tragedy - or does she think that so many people and especially children suffering and dying is Karma's way of paying back those who do wrong in that country! I think she should stick to what she knows and not go opening her mouth without a script as if she does she will have both feet stuck in there - then again that might not be such a bad thing! xxxx
