Do you believe in "Ladies First!"?

It isn't that chivalry is dead, it is that equal rights screwed it. Ladies first has not been an issue since this whole, we want to be equal with men thing. If any woman gets up set because a man didn't open a door for her or didn't let her go first. She may need to look and see, if she is a working woman she gave up her right to be treated special because of her gender.

I like to see ladies first type things happen. I still see a lot of people doing the simple things like opening doors for women. I am a Southerner which is probably where it is most alive still in the US. When I am in my hometown which is smaller I see it often. I live in a larger city, and I don't see it as much while in town. For the most part though, you can still tell that women are highly respected around here. People don't go way out of their way to open car doors and things like that anymore, but women are well respected and rarely have to open their own doors.

I find it a sign of good manners & politeness when a man holds open the door for me. It makes me feel as if chivalry is not dead & there are still some men in this world who know how to treat a woman. Thank goodness I married one of them.

Women started hollering equal rights which is great but they carried it to the specialness of how men treated women. Lord help a man if he opens a car door for a women. I have seen a women look at a man and inform him that she is perfectly capable of opening her own door. That there is nothing wrong with her hand. I felt sorry for the man because he was just trying to be nice. I also have seen women get all over a guy for pulling a chair out for them. I don't blame guys for not doing that. If they are going to get jumped all over for doing these things than I wouldn't do them either. I feel for the guy. Is "Chivalry Dead" No it is not dead women have just shot it all to pieces. And let the corpse lay there.

In our community our brothers do the same things that you have said..during our meetings they will let sises have their chairs if they see them standing, help us in carrying heavy things,allow us to eat first,assists us in going down from a high place..i can really say that there are still some left behind..^_^ I think this a natural thing for women..we are treated special..

I agree with you that these days, men are no longer following the "LADIES FIRST"... They don't care whether the women are standing in the bus or falling line at the back.. Since the new policy these days is "FIRST COME FIRST SERVE".. Don't care whether your a women or men.. Only those who consider themselves as a "GENTLE MAN" who respect/ believe about the "LADIES FIRST"..
