 My doctor said he needed a MRI done of my spine and I am leary about having one done. Not because of the test itself but what they have to put you in to do the test. I am afraid of enclosed spaces and that is what they have to do. Put you into a enclosed space so that they can do the MRI. My doctor has given me some medicine so I can relax the morning of the MRI. If you have ever had a MRI did it bother you to be put inside of a machine?

I'm not real fond of enclosed spaces either, but I just shut my eyes and thought about other things.
It was loud, that was probably my biggest objection, even with the ear plugs.
Too bad he can't schedule you with one of the open sided MRI machines.

She said the other MRI has a clearer picture. So I told her to go ahead and schedule me but I would have to have something to let me relax. She gave me a prescription and I will take it soon enough so it will kick in. My husband is going to take me. | |

Since I don't have anyone to drive me I can't take stuff for things like that. I did have some of my mom's friends help me out when I had surgery back in 1998. | |

She said that she was afraid of it at first because she did not know what to expect. She said after her first one, there is nothing really to it. You should have no worries. I think you will be just fine. Good luck with it. I think I would be a bit nervous also to be put inside of a machine at first too.

A friend told me about the open MRI and recommended it highly if I ever needed another one. Please look into it. Good luck on yours. I hope you get good results.

I think they even play music while your laying there so it tends to keep you distracted. Hope all goes well for you when you have it done.

I still am afraid of enclosed spaces but what you said makes me feel better. My doctor has given me something to take to relax me. | |
