Do you use monofilament (clear) thread for quilting?

I have this beautiful fabric panel that I'd like to machine quilt and then use as a wall hanging. Has anyone used the monofilament or clear thread for machine quilting? Did you like the effect? I've included a picture of the panel I wish to quilt. I'd appreciate any other ideas for color of thread, etc.

i'd never tried it actually,though my mom did once,and i found it..well,i could feel the thread when i used it.but for a wall hanging,i bet that would be okay:)
i don't know if you'd like it for your piece,but i'd used a silver metallic thread once and it looked really nice.

Thank you for the idea of the silver metallic thread! I wouldn't have thought of that. I just ordered the walking foot for my machine, so hopefully I'll get my wall hanging done soon.:)

it looks really nice.when you look at it from the right angle,it glitters.they have golden thread also that would work.
