I have been an exercise enthusiast for more than 15 years and I think that the best way to lose weight is through physical exercise. Dieting is one way but it will not keep you strong. Therefore, it is better to have both. Exercise regularly and decrease your food intake. Dieting does not mean skipping meals but reduction of food intake, particularly those that can add weight. happy

For me the best way to lose weight is to count calories. It helps me to practice portion control and find healthy foods which will not make me put on weight. I do find it hard to maintain weight loss once I stop counting calories. Not so much because I stop the physical counting but because I just lose the desire to be thin and start eating anything I like again.

I do find that exercising helps a lot but I think the key to maintaining weight loss is to adopt a healthy eating plan, avoiding high fat and high sugar foods, trying to use as many raw ingredients as possible (so not eating processed food) and to avoid eating out and take outs as much as you can.

Well I am tryiong to loose weight and I started with one hour walk and then moved on to workouts in gym and some aerobics -not exactly started on them but doing some simple strtching excersises. So far have shred only four KGs but as you know there is no substitute for hardwork.

i can suggest what i adopted
i done 2 things
1. i balanced my daily diet by consuming all necessary nutrients that is needed in a typical day

2. doing regular exercise ... i opted swimming .. i do 30 mins regular swimming as an exercise

I think the best thing to do is keep a diary of what your eating and the calorie content set reasonable goals! And exercise 4 - 5 days a week!

I quit drinking soda and I lost about 30 pounds in 2 months! So if you drink a lot of soda, switch to water. Also I exercise about four times a week now for about a hour and a half so I can keep the weight off!

To drop the baby weight after my children were born I did this. I ate a good breakfast, then for lunch I cut out any dairy - dinner was lettuce salad and a potatoe, pasta or rice (no meat on the last meal of the day or dairy).

During that time period I walked for 30 minutes every other night. I didn't do excersizes really, but more yoga because it's so relaxing. I slept better at night and wasn't exhausted like I was when I did more physical excersize.

I made sure that I drank water during the day and for a snack before bed time I had none buttered popcorn, an apple or an orange.

I'm not a calarie counter and I don't excersize like I used to, but walking is good - low impact for your joints plus good for your lungs and heart.

I think drinking small amounts of water during the day (so your stomach is never empty) and brushing your teeth after every meal (because it discourages snacking) is important.

I think also that depriving ourselfs of some foods makes the cravings stronger, so you might want to cut out somethings, but remember to NOT cut out flavor. When you eat foods that are high in flavor you're more satisfied because you don't feel like you're taking something away.

Eat a good breakfast, a moderate lunch and light on dinner - snack before bed. It's worked for me for years. Just remember that a fast drop in weight is never a good one. One to two pounds a week are about right because you're changes of keeping it off are better than a major drop in weight.
