What is the meaning of freedom for you?

for me, freedom means no body disturbe me, i can do everything i want to!it is freedom!

Everyone want freedom and everyone have a different opoinion of it.
The freedom in my mind is I can do the things that I think it's true and good for us and no one can prevent me.I also think the mind freedom is very important so I also think that we can express ourselves freedom.

Freedom for me is you can do necessary things in your life, Preferably you can speak out every issue in your own opinion.Free to live right, and you can able to share your thoughts with different people around you. Before I wasn't able to do the things I want to do in my life. I want to be independent before and I couldn't able to decide things in my own maybe because I was too young then, I grew up with grandmother and they tend to be very strict. But now I can stand on my own because I graduated in college because of them maybe the meaning of freedom seems to be broad in terms of life, still you have to do things in appropriate way where you can live your life right. You have to be matured enough for you to tell you can stand independently.

Hi deepak! Just like you have said, freedom is when I can express my feelings, thoughts and emotions completely. Freedom is when I can feel my spirits soar high without being pulled down by other people's convictions and principles. When I was young, I am very carefree. I follow my own dreams and I enjoy life so much. But as I got older, the pain and sufferings, the problems and arguments have clipped my wings somehow. I fly not to my heart's content but to the dictates of family and society. For so long, I have live not my life but the lives of others. I have wanted peace in my life but in order to have that I traded off my wings. I became just a follower and forgot that I have my own life to live. My husband says that I have to be my own person and that he missed the sparks in my eyes. And now that I am at this point in my life, I am somehow getting my strength back in my wings again. Soon I will fly and follow again my heart and my dream. Somehow, I know I will.

I can speak for myself only and I agree it might differ from person to person. To me freedom means to live life according to my wish without harming others in the least. Freedom is not just wearing the clothes I want to or going to a movie when I want. But it means that I am free to speak my mind when I feel its required to speak it.

I would like to quote Kay Seamayer's definition of Freedom, since this is also how I perceive it!
Freedom …in which to raise our families…in which to speak… in which to move about as we please… in which to pray and attend the church of our choice…to be educated…to start a business with little more than a dream, an idea, determination and grit…to choose a lifestyle that makes us happy…to choose our friends…to work as we see fit…to play as we wish…to live our dreams…to choose our own passions…and to be whomever or whatever we wish!!
And gladly,I am living the same way, No one is controlling nor dictating me what to do and what to eat, what to pay attention and what to wear. I have all the freedom in our house and outside which makes me feel good. I can't imagine how hard for the people to sacrifice especially those who are being slave!

For me freedom is the independence to make mistakes and the ability to never repeat the same mistakes again.

For me freedom means to be able to step outside and have a smoke at my leisure. To shower when the need arises instead of when I'm told to. To go into my kitchen and eat what I want when I want. I can go outside and walk away from my residence to go where I want and come home when I feel like it. I love being able to read and write what I want, watch whatever movies or tv shows, listen to whatever kind of music, read whatever kind of books. And last but not least, I can worship at any church of my choice, or worship at home, in the street, in my car, or not at all, if that's my choice.

Bottom line is freedom to me is choice. Making choices on my own. My time is mine. I get to choose how it's distributed. That's freedom.

for me freedom is something where there is absolutely no clash for my feelings, no clash for my work and no clash for my dreams to come true....and i know its quiet impossible to achieve that!!
