Current clothing proportions...do they fit you?

This morning I was thinking the exact same thing. I wonder if fashion designers have any idea about how we feel about that kind of thing? And if there are any on here or if anybody knows how to get through to them?
Okay I get it that something is designed and then made up in a different country. And that the pattern can get distorted in india or wherever it is being made. I also get it that something made in Italy is going to be way smaller than the same size made in Germany. What I don't get is that they seem to think that if you are a bit wide you immediately are 7 ft tall. Why is it that if you have a big bust and thus get a bigger size they immediately assume that you will have very long arms? Why is it that for about 25 years designers thought it was okay to make slacks in larger sizes and add a button on the leg? People will see I'm big anyway. The fact that I got a certain size does not have to be advertised by two buttons on the leg of my pants!
Unless you are very out of proportion then this kind of thing should not happen. When are the designers going to get that into their heads?
