What's the deal with online friends?

You got a point here! Some invite friends right and left to spam them! I am wary of these types of friends and delete them right away. I also do not accept friends who have less than 5 ratings. If I have friends who are still 10 to 20 ratings after a year, I delete them. Lately, I deleted a lot of friends because I have not seen them in my duscussions or even in my friends' discussions. What are friends for if they are not visiting your posts!

Wow, 10,000 friends in myLot. That is really a lot. If all those friends are referrals then that person will be making money in myLot without doing much work.

I make friends in myLot when people add me or I will add people myself. I don't care whether they have high star rating or not. Sooner or later, their rating will go up. I just want to make friends in myLot, start discussions and make money.

I personally don't want to add people to my friends list. I don't see the point of adding people you don't know. What's most irratiting is the same people trying to add you all the time. You would think after the first deny they would take the hint....NOT.

Hello, this person may have 10,000 friends but what is the point. You dont earn any more for having friends as they are not referrals. If you accept friends then you should really be interacting with their discussions and topics which, obviously this prson is not as they only have (4) after their name .
Maybe someone should drop hm a line and explain how things really work here in myLot.
Anyway enough rambling I hope they are happy with all those friends.

I have always wondered that as well. For me, I would think the whole idea behind wanting to add someone to your Friends list would be to get to know them by their discussions that they start here, and have them become a Big part of this site as well. For me, when I have a newer person request being a Friend of mine, a lot of times I will leave them there a couple of days to see if they will be active on here or not. If they are active, then I add them, if not, I deny them. Because I feel that if you want a Friend you have to be a Friend, and that does not mean SPAM them here either. Just my thoughts.

Wow, are you kidding me? That's too many friends on here. I've been on here for a while and I don't have that many friends. You are right I just add people as I reply to their discussions or they'll add me. I couldn't imagine about having just 4 posts but 10 000 friends.

Most of the friends on my friend list (and there's lots of them) are people I have asked to be friends with based on the discussions they started or they are people who requested me to be their friend (I'm assuming based on discussions I started). I usually accept all of them and no one except for one has spammed me. I deleted that particular profile.
There are some on my friend list who are not active anymore. I check my list from time to time and delete those who are not active.
One advantage of having many friends is more exposure to your discussions when you start them and easy to find the discusions that your friends have started without having to hunt through hundreds and thousands of junk discussions.

Interesting. This person only posted four posts. Maybe he/she was busy making friends instead of posting. He/she might have just added on friends requests to anybody whose discussions he/she clicked on or whose replies he/she read. Alternatively, it could be an attempt at making more money here by building a downline of referrals. I have no idea how that would work though, lol.

If this is the one I am thinking of, go back to his profile page and you will see that he explains exactly what he did. I am not sure I think it is legal, but well..he admits it.

Well he is probably sending private messages to all his "friends" to spam them and try to get them to sign up for any kind of program he is into
I dislike very much such an attitude, and even worse when they spam you publicly by leaving those messages supposedly about you but they just advetise their stuff .. that's rude!
