Have you ever had Bad experience with Hairdressers? |
|
A friend of mine commented once, 'Wow, new haircut! Is the hairdresser still alive! I swear I wanted to kill the bugger! That was how bad the haircut was! Anyways, my mother-in-law came to visit yesterday and asked my opinion on her hundred something dollar haircut and hair color! She's been going to the same hairdresser for years. Honestly, for a 70++ year multi-color hair dye and a punk style haircut just looked funny. I asked her if she's happy with it and she seemed satisfied. I couldn't really give my honest opinion because I know it'll just upset her. I told my hubby that sometimes I'd like to fix her hair and I know I can do better than the hairdresser she goes to, but my mate said 'NO! and don't do that!' He knows his mom and if things go wrong, she'll be blaming me forever like when he helped her dye her hair years ago.

1. cream97 (6115) | 8 months ago | Yes, twice.. Both women did my hair.. And it did not look good at all.. It did not look like how my aunt usually does it.. I remember a woman doing my hair.. And I paid her to do it.. I washed my hair when I got home and then I called my aunt to tell her that I want her to do my hair for me..

4. SViswan (3994) | 8 months ago | I had a bad experience once and it was worse because I had it cut before a function I had to attend. I just wanted a trim and the lady couldn't get it right..one side was always too short and she would try to level the other side and ended up making that shorter than the first. I went into the place with waist length hair and came out with a haircut shorter than my shoulder! My parents said it looked good on me (what else could they say?) but I knew how bad it was! And it took months for it to grow out again. I've been very wary of hair dressers after that and rarely do I go for a new haircut....and when I do I make sure it's at a good place even though I have to pay a little extra for it.

5. Bd200789 (1750) | 8 months ago | Yes, I had an awful haircut years ago. I was about nine or ten, and Mom made me get it cut really short. I looked like a boy! It took forever to grow back. I looked even worse once it started to grow out.

moolahmagnet (1968) | 8 months ago | That reminded me of my daughter when she was about six years old. Couldn't wait for me and she cut her fringes so short. Everyone teased her and she wouldn't go out of the house for awhile.

fluffysue (557) | 8 months ago | At least your mom let your hair grow back! My sister and I had haircuts like that from when I was 5 until about 10 or 11. I think my mom had gotten tired of brushing and fixing our hair. I can't stand of looking at pictures where I look like a boy in a dress! lol

6. foxyfire33 (5748) | 8 months ago | I can think of two...the first was when I was 18 and decided to be brave and cut my long hair into the cute pixie style that was popular at the time. Well, I showed the lady the picture and everything but she still cut it totally wrong. It was at most an inch long all over....basically I had a army sttyle cut until it grew out. The second time was a few years ago...I went to a different one with the instructions that I needed my hair to be layered because it gets really think and bushy but that I did not want the short layers that make my hair even puffier and frizzy looking...I also did not want short bangs because I have curly/wavy hair and short bangs just wind up looking like a frizzy ball on top of my head. Well...lets just say when she got done with me, she turned me around and said "Well, it's frizzy and poofy and you are going to hate those short bangs." Uh...what?!?! She did exactly what I told her not to do. Oh I just remembered another one...I went to get my hair colored...a rare treat for me. My hair has natural reddish undertones by my skin tone really calls for a cooler color. I told the woman that I wanted to have a nice cool shade of dark blonde to light brown. She wound up just making my hair a bright auburn color.

moolahmagnet (1968) | 8 months ago | Oww dear! Sometimes they don't just get it, do they! And what do you when they make mistake like that with hair coloring? We have to live with it at least for a week or so, because another dyeing will damage our hair. I can imagine some hysterics there when you left the salon.

7. Hatley (13667) | 8 months ago | Yes indeed I went to Fantastic Sams and the gal gave me an awful hair cut with one side about two inches longer that the other then to top everything off she charged me twenty three dollars instead of the fifteen that I usually paid for a much better cut. the next time I got a different stylist and my goodness the difference in haircutters. this time i got an excellent cut for sixteen dollars, the best' one I had ever had from Fantastic SAms.

8. grasshopper5257 (291) | 8 months ago | Yes! And to be honest I am trying to grow it out as we speak! I haven't cut my hair short for nearly 20 yrs and last month I got the hair brained idea to cut off my long locks. I went to a friend of my daughters who is a beautician with the coaching of my daughter and sure enough my hair went from 18" to less than 2". It goes every which way and is a mess. I have considered wearing a hat. It was supposed to look professional a more polished look, man did I get a surprise! I look like a bag lady, you know, like I should wear a bag over my head!

9. nmw2005 (1087) | 8 months ago | Yes, twice growing up I had 2 really bad haircuts. Other kids are cruel, so that made it 10 times worse. We have the pictures and 20 some years later, looking at the picture it was still bad. Needless to say my mom felt really bad since she had to talk me into gtting my hair cut.

10. Transdisc (18618) | 8 months ago | Yes, moolahmagnet, I have had a bad experience with a hair dresser. It was many years ago. I had just moved to a new small town and I made the mistake of asking an old man in my church where one got their hair cut. That was mistake #1. He told me that he went to ol' Slingblade. I nodded, 'uh huh'. That was mistake #2. I asked how to get to ol' Slingblade, and the old man commenced to give me directions using only country terms, as if he was testing whether I'd be able to find my way. For example, he told me to turn left by a certain type of tree, turn right by a certain type of cow, etc. I took it all in and was determined to find my way and prove to him that I could handle myself in the country. That was mistake #3. He told me once I got to the trailer to just knock on the door and Slingblade would open the door and let me in. I did as he said and knocked on the door. Slingblade opened the door and invited me in to his kitchen, where there was a barber's chair. I got into the chair. Mistake #4. The final mistake I made was not leaving the chair and running from the place screaming when he cranked up the Flowbee and commenced to cutting my hair. Needless to say, my hair looked like every other old man's hairdo in town. I was 24 years old and an idiot.
