Plastic or wire hangers? |
|
Do you like to use the plastic or wire hangers? I've been using a combination of both. The plastic ones are easier to use and don't get all tangled up. I just don't like to pay for the plastic ones when I can get the wire ones for free. Which do you use and which do you like best? Are the plastic ones really better for your clothes? I have't been able to tell a difference.

1. book1962 (10495) | 8 months ago | hi I love the good old wooden ones I still have here, they are the best and most stable hangers. The plastic ones break too easily and the wire ones, like the wooden ones, are no good when the garments are still slightly wet, like when ironed with a damp iron.

2. melanie652 (1475) | 8 months ago | After using the wire ones for years, I've gotten to where I prefer the plastic ones. They're bigger so our shirts don't slide off one side. Also they don't leave any marks on our clothes like the wire ones will do sometimes.

3. miller23231 (654) | 8 months ago | That's a great question! I laugh because my boyfriend and I argue all the time about hangers! I like the plastic ones, in fact, I HATE wire hangers, the get bent all out of shape, if clothes are heavy, they fall off of them and end up in a heap on the closet floor... I just hate them! But, my boyfriend keeps a stash of wire hangers in our basement and insists on hanging his clothes on them in the closet! UGH!!! Lol

Sherry12 (1841) | 8 months ago | LOL, my husband seems to like the wire ones too. Those are the ones he always uses. He even had a handful of my plastic ones and ask if they could be thrown away.

4. blackbriar (5188) | 8 months ago | My mom used to use wire hangers when I was a kid and I carried on doing that when I got married till I found my fave white t-shirt with rust stains on the neck and shoulders from the wire hanger. After that, I went out and bought several dozen plastic ones and that's all we use to this day. I have a couple wire hangers but they are for fixing mufflers and such.

Sherry12 (1841) | 8 months ago | Thank you. I had never thought of that, I did have a stain on the neck of a shirt and I couldn't figure out how it got there. It must have been from the hanger.

5. mamacathie (1373) | 8 months ago | Well, I just re-organized our closet and we had a combination of wire and plastic. I bought new plastic hangers because I wanted to get rid of the wire hangers. They tend to not hold our clothes as neat. I hate I had to spend the money to get the plastic hangers but in the long run it will save me some time getting the clothes fluffed or ironed when I take them off the hangers. God bless.

6. Gargoyle0134 (1251) | 8 months ago | I prefer plastic hangars becasue they don't ruin the shoulders of my shirts. I now they cost a bit more? but over time if you get a few here and there, they never rust out and it's good to have them.

7. Residual (705) | 8 months ago | I mainly use the wire ones because of they are more stable. When I hang my pants up I like to keep the creases in them and the plastic ones have to give in them.

Sherry12 (1841) | 8 months ago | It is nice to see those creases and know things are being kept straight. Thanks for answering.
