Ok I will take a lesson in driving in the future and probably will wait till my brother is finished and wait my turn...We will enroll in a driving class..basically we will take tests.. I remembered our guy friend saying he wants to ride bike big cause he is afraid to drive a car....I think its just matter of getting used to it ...........

1. terri0824 (3029) | 5 months ago | Yes, I know how to drive and have had my license for 30 years. I took drivers ed many years ago before I got my license at the age of 16. I drive a manual now and have pretty much most of my life. With my most recent vehicle I really was wanting an automatic, but glad I didn't get one now because both my daughters would want to drive it, so they don't even ask because they can't drive manual vehicles.

GardenGerty (14048) | 5 months ago | That is a mean trick. or it is good self defense. It took me a long time to learn to drive stick, and it still is not my favorite.

terri0824 (3029) | 5 months ago | Well I don't consider it a mean trick since I didn't think of it when I bought the car, but just how it has happened to work. I guess you could call it good self defense!

2. GardenGerty (14048) | 5 months ago | I am more afraid of the other people that drive than I am of driving myself. I was a little "old" to learn to drive. Lots of teens drive in the US, and I was twenty. I have an excellent driving record and most places I work put me on the driving list.

chichong (1319) | 5 months ago | so you got a clean record ....no drinking while driving no parking at the wrong places.......Yeah lots of teen but their not the best drivers........either they are party goer or they drive funky........

4. jairgirl (928) | 5 months ago | hello chichong, i dont know how to drive yet i am not that confident unlike my younger sister but my hubby says i have to learn for future. i did tried to drive our manual car and it is not easy in my case coz i am not good in coordination (huhu) but we are thinking of buying an automatic car or trade in ours for one to save us some money coz he thinks it will be easier for me to learn that way, we are supposed to test drive one today (buick enclave) but after reading the mpg it is way too low so we might consider some other car. my husband will teach me first and then later have a personal lesson coz he thinks i am safer to him and i do feel safer to him than others and i dont have to worry about him being upset or frustrated LOL anyway, i wish you all the best. takecare

chichong (1319) | 5 months ago | yeah its easier to drive automatic car....but I we dont have a automatic one..... and I think ths better to learn both....you could practice on your mazda 3 .....and you can bump it so you will feel what its like.........
| |
jairgirl (928) | 5 months ago | yeah, i think it is easier to drive automatic coz i drive go cart before and he says it is just the same so we are hoping i can learn the automatic one first then go on to the stick, i would love to learn both coz i know it will benefit me in the end so it is just best to have 'em both. haha, i cannot just crash our car it's just a year old and i will feel terrible if i dent it or something beside our car insurance will go way up high just because of that so we'd rather have a rent one to do the training. btw, i did practiced once in our car and it is funny i may try it again but i need to build up my confidence first LOL takecare

jairgirl (928) | 5 months ago | hahaha, sounds like me when i am starting to learn how to ride a bike. i sure have few bumps in my body when i finally learn it LOL i dont think your ideas of learning is weird coz we all have our own choices BUT mine is to be as safe as possible and just be ready and or at least know what to do next when such accident happen. like i said it will cost us a lot to fix the car and our insurance will go high too so i need to be extra careful as much as i can. thanks for the thoughts though. takecare!

chichong (1319) | 5 months ago | yeah and I also will have to learn how to fix a car ..youll be towed at our place if you dont know what to do and youl pay big amount .....and a knowledge about how to fix a car is a big plus....like fixing a flat tire or fixing the engine when something is wrong...............
| |
jairgirl (928) | 5 months ago | LOL you will be towed anywhere you go if your car broke or you park in the wrong side haha. i agree with you completely that we have to learn how to fix the car, i have told my man that he will teach me how to fix the car once he buy me one so i know what to do in case of emergency i dont mind getting dirty and i enjoy doing the man job so he is more happy to show and teach me. i wish you all the best to everything you desire, i think everything is easy to learn if you really want to learn. takecare!

5. gemini_rose (7979) | 5 months ago | I started to learn how to drive when I was 23, I was a single parent at the time and would work extra shifts to pay for the lessons. I did really well but was not confident when it came to the test and failed miserably. My instructor put me straight back in for another test which I had to pass because I simply could not afford to pay for anymore lessons or tests. I was at work on a half day and was due to have a 2 hour lesson straight after I had finished, a colleague came over to see me and asked me when my next driving lesson was, I told her I was having a lesson straight after work. She said "you have not heard then?" I said "heard what?" she then told me that my driving instructor had suffered a massive heart attack while out on a lesson with a young lad and had died in the car!! I could not claim my money back through his estate because of legal issues and so I lost that and I just could not afford to continue and so that was that!! I still cannot drive, not sure if I ever will although sometimes I think that I would like too.

6. dragon54u (3387) | 5 months ago | It's a skill just like anything else. When you learned to walk you fell down a lot but look how good you are at walking now! Cars are just another skill you have to learn. The difference between driving a car and anything else is that you're driving a 2,000 pound deadly weapon! Be very careful, the human body has no chance against all that weight and hardness. Be courteous--rudeness and agressive driving cause most accidents. You'll do fine, and enjoy driving and the independence you'll have. I hope your friend isn't talking about a motorcycle--they're very dangerous!

7. dolce_vita78 (3684) | 5 months ago | I am not scared to drive a car. I have been driving since I was 16 (using just student driver's license) and just got my driver's license when I was 18. Once you learned the basics of driving, there is really nothing to be scared about. What is important is you know how to be very careful and of course, you know how to follow traffic rules and regulations. Good luck chichong!

10. gr8life (2786) | 5 months ago | Hello chichong, I think driving a car is safer than riding a bike. That's only my personal opinion. I had my driving license since 1998. I was in hurry that I learned how to drive in two weeks time. As a result, I took the test twice due to failure to park the car correctly*smiles* I am not afraid of driving but I am really afraid of looking at those speeding drivers. They just don't care about their lives, other's or anything else. That makes me to think that it is safer to drive a car instead of riding a bike. You wouldn't know when these arrogant drivers will hit you on the road.

chichong (1319) | 5 months ago | yeah when you have an accident the probability of being safe is greater than a motorcycle..
