MY Grace - MY Destiny


Confusion long plagues me.
Convoluted and vague things
do frustrate and painfully
bring to bear achings
which prove so confoundingly
tough on my bearings.

To struggle for clarity
is not out of vanity,
but for desperate parity -
to end the insanity
that is the disparity
between "can" and calamity.

So much potential unment
makes real poise ever tougher.
How can I garner my strength and get
thicker skin so as to buffer
my soul. I have not resigned yet
that this is a fate I should suffer.

What great equalizer shall claim
such benevolence? Why should the deed
be to bring down and maim
a heart's essence, compelling the need
for resignation and shame?
To live on I must let my heart bleed?

Well, to hell with your notion
of grace from on high,
designed to compel man's devotion.
With or without you, I'll die.
While I'm here I shall bridge every ocean,
and on MY terms, I WILL touch the sky!
