 Shane Warne showed tremendous charecter in the rescently concluded IPL tournament. No doubt he is a great player and showed that he can lead from the front. Does he have any chance of coaching the Indian National Team in future?

He is a strong headed Guy. He is an Australian and is used to the work ethics that the Australians follow. All these qualities make him unsuitable to be an Indian coach.
Let me explain. Remember the Guy names Greg Chappell? What happened to him? When he was made the Indian Team Coach everyone was going Gaga about the decision. But soon we understood that its not going to work if someone tries to be the boss over Indian senior players. Our players don't like to be demanded the best. they like to be set free and enjoy as they want and meanwhile producing some results in between. Thats the reason why Dave Whatmore was rejected out right by the Indian team players as a coach.
What we need is someone like John Wright and Gary Kristen seems to be the best option we have in our hand right now.I hope this combination works well.
Coming back to Shane Warne. Just because he did wonders with Rajasthan Royals doesn't mean he is the best. Remember he was the captain-coach of the team. I am sure the story would have been very different if he was either only the captain or only the coach. being a coach-captain he had all the freedom to make strategies and improvise on them whenever he wanted without anybody questioning him. But if he is just a coach and the Captain makes some innovations on the field I am sure that wont go down well with a strong headed person like Shane Warne. Thats one reason he was never a Captain of the Aussie team.

if you actually closely notice the rajasthan royals, there werent many ( actually to be precice nil ) indian hot shots
all the indian players in team lacked international experience it was a very young but a very very immature side
but finally it was they who lifted the costliest trophy ever made the dlf ipl cup
he just moulded the team to his thoughts and ideas
he carved the young inexperienced team to a victorius one
during this tournament, thoughts arose in the minds of the indian national team selectors to have shane warne as an option for coaching the national side
it was the probably one of the best thoughts that an indian selector could think of
the question that will they chose another australian after chappell shpould never ever arise in their minds
he has blended so well with the indian crowd and just drawn the attention of the whole indian crowd towards himself
a man of extreme caliber, one shiould never hesitate to choose him to be the next coach of the indian national side | |
