2. crispeater (1176) | 3 months ago | When I was about thirteen or fourteen my mother borrowed an acoustic guitar from someone she worked with for me to try out. I ended up keeping it for about five years before she asked for it back. The first guitar I ever actually owned was a secondhand Tanglewood Stratocaster copy. I got it when I was eighteen. I didn't know much about guitars back then. I didn't even know what a Stratocaster was. All I knew was that the Strat copy was a lot cheaper than the only other guitar the shop had (a Les Paul copy). I don't have that guitar anymore. I traded it in about ten years ago for another electric guitar. I wish I had kept it.

crispeater (1176) | 3 months ago | I traded it in for an Aria electric guitar. It's not a bad guitar but it's not much better than my Tanglewood Strat. One major flaw with the Aria is the tone knob. You can only have the tone turned up really high or it's turned off altogether, there's no in between settings. For that reason I never use it, it's been years since I've played it.

4. musicman6 (1429) | 3 months ago | My first guitar was an acoustic, with the f-holes, and I only paid three dollars for it, in the 60's! It didn't even have a brand name on it! But that is where I started learning to play guitar! My second guitar was a Silvertone, with a silvertone amp! That's when I started playing rock and roll! My third guitar was a Gibson SG, and by then I was playing in groups already! After that I've had all kinds of guitars, Guild, Telecasters, Jaguars, Stratocasters, Mustangs, Ibanez, Yamaha,Epiphone, Squires, Peavey! The sad part is, I didn't manage to keep all of them, I would be rich by now! I traded, sold,or lost in pawn, all of these guitars, and one burned in a fire!

| 5. smooch091784 (90) | 3 months ago | I had my first guitar when I was in 2nd HS. It was the Lyric guitar that mom bought for me for almost 60$. Back then, I was addicted to this band, called The Moffatts and that I got obsessed to them. So I had my favorite of the brothers, and used to do what he did at that time. My mom hired an instructor for me to learn the guitar. I have some songs that I played like All Apologies from Kurt Cobain and some Beatles songs.

|
| neiloid (38) | 3 months ago | that's good. now you can play the songs that you like.=) i like to play some nirvana and beatles song too. so do you still play the guitar nowadays? thanks for the post.=)

8. sparkster (125) | 3 months ago | My first guitar was a steel string Hohner acoustic which my parents bought for 16th birthday. I learned to play on it, managed to get my hands on a rubbish old guitar that someone had left in a skip, so started using that while I saved up and bought myself an epiphone gibson les paul.

| 9. jayzzzz (28) | 3 months ago | Well.. I only got 2 guitars.. pretty sad huh? T_T I had a TGM guitar as my first guitar. It was an acoustic and I still had it with me. Its been with me since the day I started learning guitar. Some of the stings are pretty rusty and it easily get off tune. But still, it's a very memorable guitar^_^ My uncle bought it for me as a birthday present and I started to have an interest for music because of it. I still use it even now.. Because my second guitar is an electric guitar, i use my acoustic guitar for some songs when electric guitar is unsuitable.
