I need Help using AVG with Incredimail  | |  I had it all working fine together and then I installed the new AVG 8.0
I have several email accounts. It's retrieving and scanning my Hotmail and Yahoo mail just fine, but it will not retrieve my Gmail at all.
Any idea what could be the problem?

Also, GMail is completely web-based, meaning the only files you need AVG for are the images in your cache and the attachments you download.
AVG8 is terribly bloated. I loved version 7.5, but 8 is a nightmare. Of course, I only use the free versions.

 momalisa65 (980) | 8 months ago | Well, apparently AVG 7.5 is no longer available. I was told (by them) to upgrade to 8.0 because there was no longer going to be updates for the older version after May 31. That's why I upgraded.
Yes, I use IE. I know nothing about Firefox. IE came with my computer or internet or whatever and that's all I've ever used.
Right now I set up my Gmail to be forwarded to my Yahoo address, until I get this figured out. So at least I am able to get all my email through Incredimail that way for now.

It all worked just fine with 7.5, but now I keep getting the "you are not protected" alert saying my email scanner isn't activated, but it doesn't tell you how to activate it! Does anyone know of a place you can go to get the "universal" email scanner AVG refers to? I've even tried re-installing AVG 8.0 ... I make sure the "install universal" is checked, then ... nothing. Help!!
