the newest ones were far too mainstream and too blockbuster

i agree. for me dookie is the best green day album. all the songs are great and the music is so raw and the lyrics are so honest that i can't help but to wish that i had been the one to write those songs. i really like "burning out" as that is the song i can relate to the most. "sasafra's roots" is also another favorite of mine. dookie is one of the essential albums one must have in my opinion.
