spewed sticky strawberry cola and....

I never ever trust a brand new big bottle of soda because this has happened to me before and I know for a fact that no one shook it up between the time I bought it and the time I opened it. Unless someone goes around doing that at the store, there must be some other reason for the pressure to build up in the bottle. Since that incident I always open the cap a tiny bit and let release the pressure before opening the cap the rest of the way.

Yes I have, ahh the memories. The pop doesn't even have to be shook up to foam all over. I had that happen with some cream soda at a friends house, lucky for me and her I was quick thinking and the kitchen sink was close by. I used to clean house for this lady who warmed up some honey in her microwave, (thats a big no no). She took it out and it exploded, all over, everywhere....She is so lucky she didn't get burned. She did most of the cleaning up, I did some of the cleaning up from the ceiling, upper cupboards etc.

That is very funny, although at the time it probably was not so funny for you he he.

I think cola is the worst for cleaning up when it goes everywhere it just gets so sticky. My boys decided to put a bottle of cola in the freezer without me knowing. I was in the kitchen when all of a sudden I could hear this hissing sound, I looked everywhere. What on earth was it?

I then tracked it down to the freezer, bearing in mind that I did not know what the noise was I cautiously opened the freezer to get a face full of cola. Because it was nearly full and full of fizz as it was freezing it had all reacted and was slowly exploding. I was not best pleased with them at all!

my husband once,now he was an adult, shook a can of
cola and sprayed the ceiling of our kitchen and me
and the floor too. so okay I cleaned the sticky mess
off the floor and changed clothes but he had to get
a step ladder and laboriously clean off the dripping
ceiling with me standing there to make sure he got'
all of it..He did finally quit laughing as I had
never began myself. lol

Oh boy what a mess!
The last really sticky mess i had was a couple of years ago
I was making some milkshakes for the kids
I must have not gotten the lid on the blender tight enough because when I turned my back the lid flew off and milkshake spewed everywhere including the ceiling
I was still finding milkshake a week later LOL

Been there sweety and when you say everywhere I know you mean everywhere! lol We had one so bad it even sprayed over the kitchen ceiling - that one was fun! Poor you having all that to clean up! xxx

I have had a few 2 liters spew all over the counter before. It ran down the cabinets and into the floor also. I wipe it up and it leaves the floor sticky until I go back over it again. I was glad that it spewed in my kitchen area though, where it is alot easier to clean up off of the linoleum than it is on carpeted areas.

How funny. Am sure you didn't think it was so funny at the time it happened. Did one of your kids shake up the soda?

Yes I had my share of cleaning up sticky messes in the kitchen or wherever the girls were drinking regular soda. Recently my husband bought regular Pepsi for me in the 2 liter bottles. He put them away and the next day I took one out to pour some soda in a glass and the bottle was so sticky that my hand stuck to it. Spilled soda all over the counter.

Hi RLFinNash! Yikes! What a sticky "funny" kinda mess! haha.. I really haven't had any luck yet in having cola spewed all over me and the kitchen. haha..Thank God! And I think Doughnut did it and not the kids! haha..

this has happened so many times...i goes of with a swoosh and all gets messy but for the love of cola i dont mind it..heehee i m addicted to cola..but after so many years of cola drinking i am pretty good at it and it hardly ever spills..so now i have a sticky mess only when my three year old spills his cola glass on the floor..have a nice day
