Success: Luck or Hard Work?  |

 OK, I admit it, sometimes success IS the result of luck.
we happen to be in the right place at the right time,we think up the next "Pet Rock" (if you're too young, ask your parents),our little screenplay gets nabbed by Spielberg.
But you know what they say:"You make your own luck. Luck is nothing more than the results of lots and lots of hard work and effort put in before the 'lucky'results show themselves."
What do you guys think about it?

| tigertang (1489) | 3 months ago |  OK, there are times when things beyond your control do take place. There are also times when everything you touch seems to go right. So, let's not make fun of luck or underestimate the role that luck plays in success.
However, I believe in the school of though pioneered by Gary Player and Steve Davis - "The harder I work, the luckier I become." Hard work is usually the best way to ensure you get ahead in life. It's good work hard and better to work smart but if you don't work hard you won't be able to recognise working smart.
What I mean is that the thing that usually takes us to a higher level is opportunity. HOwever, we are not trained to recognise opportunity and so when it comes about, many of us hard working stiffs will let it pass thanks to the various commitments we've made. Someone who spots opportunity will grab onto it and make the most of it.
However, we are more likely to get opportunity if we work hard at doing things like studying the industry we are in. We learn opportunity when we work so hard that we become valueable assets to the organisations tha we work for. We work hard at developing ourselves into better people.
So, yes luck is very important at making you successful. Sometimes you can work hard at the wrong thing. However, you are most likely to succeed when you work hard at creating value - somehow opportunity creates options to meet you when you are willing to work at it. Sitting there and playing the lottery in the hope you'll strike it rich is statistically foolish.

Gesusdid (1091) | 4 months ago |  well luck is just what it is, simply luck, like a bum on the street can find a winning lottery tickted on the ground and hey he won 10 million dollars thus he's luck he's been outta the job for 10 years living on the street that can possibly happen but no he didnt work really hard he just got lucky so that example is what luck is to me, for a person to have success right then there, with Success you do have to build up and excute it very well thus giving you longevity in success, which will continue, with luck it will come and go
