Tim Russertt of Meet the press died today |
|
How often do we get so used to seeing someon on a news cast, or someone on a show that we don't stop to think about that they could die... And that is what happened today, Tim Russert, meet the press, died of a heart attack today, he was only 58, Wow >Russert, of Buffalo, N.Y., took the helm of the Sunday news show in December 1991 and turned it into the nation's most widely watched program of its type. His signature trait there was an unrelenting style of questioning that made some politicians reluctant to appear, yet confident that they could claim extra credibility if they survived his grilling intact. < I used to watch meet the press and while I didn't always agree with him, or how he did things I did respect him, NBC broke their programming to announce his death today. Did you every watch meet the press? Do you think they can find a replacement that will match him? Mooch

Each tv personality has their own ways of doing things. I still can't believe this and will sure miss watching him on Meet The Press on Sunday mornings.

3. rx4life (1049) | 7 months ago | I had a great respect for Tim Russert..I am in shock...He will be greatly missed in the political world. He was so excited about this upcoming election and the many possibilties...it is a tragedy that he won't be here to report on it...I feel so badly for his family...he was so dedicated to them. The world has lost a great human being, whether a person agreed with him or not.

rx4life (1049) | 7 months ago | In my grief I forgot to answer your question.. I happen to believe it would be very hard to replace him...but they will...it will be a stressful decision. They have now changed his reason for death on the television they are saying they have taken out the phrase "heart attack" and replaced it by saying he was "stricken" and died at the hospital...they are now thinking it more an electrical cardiac arrest which is in fact different than a classic heart attack. Either way it is still a sad fact.

oneandonemakesix (24123) | 7 months ago | that is so true, and that was what got him so noticed his non fancy style his honesty, and politicians actually believed they were politically ahead if they could survive his interviews. that's one thing I liked about him..... I hope they can find someone to continue his show and political saaviness and style that he so portrayed. Mooch

4. stephcjh (16167) | 7 months ago | I responded to another discussion just a few minutes ago about this matter. I have watched Meet The Press quite a few times over the years. I am so sorry that Tim has died now. I am sure that they will find a replacement for him but I am not sure if he will fit right in and take his place or not. I am almost positive that no one would even try to be just like him. they would be better off just to be themselves.

5. fwidman (3055) | 7 months ago | I saw this story a little while ago on television. Bummer:( While not a fan of Meet The Press, I have seen him in interviews and he seemed like a very likeable and knowledgeble newsman. I am sure he will be sorely missed by the network and fans.
