have you ever was in the situation wher you had to play HERO?

I'm usually casted as the villian in life.:-) All is as it should be.

The closest I ever got to being a "hero" (and it wasn't very close!) was one time when I saved my dog from a Great Dane.

I was living in Italy at the time, and had taken my dog for a walk. I knew there was a Dane on the corner that didn't care for other male dogs, but he was usually tied up and I got too lax one day. My dog, Chet, and I started by the Dane's house and he was loose. He looked at both of us. I thought if we just turned and let without any agressive moves, he would just let us by. Big, BIG mistake.

We hadn't gone more than a few steps before the Dane attacked Chet. Chet only weighed about 35 pounds and was a long-legged slender dog -- no match for the other guy. The Dane was shaking him like a rag dog. Chet got loose, so I took my chance and grabbed the dog around his shoulders and hollered, "Run, Chet, Run! Go home!" He took off running as fast as he could on three legs (one front let had been dislocated) and I held the Dane until Chet was out of sight. I stupidly let go of the dog at that time, and he took off after Chet again!

Fortunately, my mother-in-law saw Chet running for home with the other dog chasing him and was able to let Chet in before the other dog go him. Chet was injured, but he survived.

All the time, I'm a MOM, that's what we do.
