Jumping into Niagra-fall

Hello everybody Ji,
Right from my child-hood, i was very much fascinated about this fall in the world of travel. My dreams came true on 04 Oct 2003, as I visited this fall on that day, and came to know that some daring people made attempts to jump and swim. Once idea flickered in my mind as well. Since then i have been thinking about this. I thought of getting one cylindrical drum, which would be water-tight, floatable material, equipped with all life savings items, like going into space, taht should be able to accomodate me and then this capsule like item should be thrown into at satrt of fall. So any comments from you all. How much money would be required and what is percentage of chances of coming out and again start discussing. Please share your views in deatil. have a nice time.

I too love this falls and it is so bewitching and beautiful. I have yet to visit it. There are so many people who have ridden a rope across the niagara. I find that absolutely heart stopping. I know there have been people who have sealed themselves up in a barrel and tried jumping the fall. I really dont remember the consequences of doing that. So i cant be of much help i think.... ANyway thumbup

so there are people who actually jump and take a dip at Niagara falls? i thought it wasn't allowed there because its dangerous and one can die there! that is the reason why they put a fence at the top of the fall right?

anyway, what you are thinking is probably doable. a good engineer can design something like that. a material that can withstand the pressure of falling and splashing to the water and the pressure of the falling water. a material not heavy enough that can crash down into the floor of the water fall. i don't know if there's material like that. but there are a lot of inventions nowadays, more odd than the one you're thinking so i think its would be possible for engineers to design something like this. although i think this would really be a dangerous feat. i'd rather bungee jump from a bridge. wink
