Science Fiction or Science Fact?

Finally, a real hope of getting the USA off foreign oil dependency! But don't let the big oil men get wind of it. They'd be sure to develop some antibiotics and end the threat to their empires.

With science nothing is impossibles, even though this sounds a little out there. Fifty years ago if someone told you redyellowblackdog that you would be using a machine called a computer to communicate to the whole world, what would you have said. Technology everyday increases, so it is not at of the realm of possiblity that one day our landfills will be turned into the next fuel source to power our cars.

Yeah the article sounds true, but also too goos to be true, if something like that happens, our petrol probs are almost over...

Hmm, it sounds like it could be plausible, I don't know a thing about bioengineering at all, but I know I don't like what has happened in some instances so far, like the U.S. farmer that had his own crop contaminated by pollen from a crop own by Bio-Engineering firm Monsanto, (I think), They then sued him for having THEIR property and won, he lost his farm.

I also read that this pollen is for some reason toxic to butterflies whose job it usually is to pollenate the plants in the field.

I believe this is the same type of stuff they sold ONCE to a mob of unsuspecting Indonesians.

They tried to grow next years crop from the left over seed they kept from the year before, like they have done for years. The Monsanto seed, guess what, it isn't viable, it won't grow. They made it like that especialy just for themselves. Plants that cannot reproduce. The farmers said "WHAT???" and I don't think anyone has bought much from them since, good idea huh!

They're good, lets totally destroy the environment and everyone will have to buy our special seeds.

Garbage into something valuable.
Vegetable waste into fuel oils, hmmm.

What would we end up with if we stuffed a vat full of poiticians and poured in the appropriate brew.

I think the experiment would fail and we would end up with what we started out with, a pile of crap, with some goods bits mixed up in it, but you wouldn't go near it due the the stink.

But, there is certainly a lot of folks that would like tis to work, I would, but, also want, electocar in the driveway, bigoil has had its day, time to tell them to get stuffed.

I have no doubt that they are looking into it.

I thought we were working on alternative energy sources, so why the interest in artificial oil production?

Why not drill and process our own supplies and kick OPEC to the curb?

This is also a very expensive way to produce oil. so what is that going to do to the price of gas?

This is never going to be a cheap source of fuel, so what is the point really?

The mention of being carbon negative is irrelevant to those of us who know that climate change is not caused by man.

This sentence says it all...
