Why should she have to prove you wrong? You are the one who stated this as fact. As I see it, the proof should come from you. Others have come up with proof to the contrary, and I haven't seen anything to show any different.

What she's done in the first part of her statement is committed libel. She has stated opinion as fact.

Because there is so much of this claptrap rumor mill on the net, it would never be pursued. However technically, if it were, myLot could be required by law to produce her personal information. She would be required to produce proof of her statement in a court of law.

I haven't seen the entire birth certificate of any of the other candidates online, either. A person would have to be out of their minds to post their birth certificate without blacking items out on the Internet.

How can you immmediately get on a plane after giving birth and go to Hawaii? and from what I understand, Barack's father didn't come back to Kenya until he finished his schooling in the U.S. I will say that in his autobiography, he mentioned his relatives talked about a white woman came to his village searching for him, but it was the woman that he married after divorcing Barack's mother, Ann. he had married another white woman who gave him a couple of sons, they to my knowledge, consider themselves white if I am not mistaken. That is one interesting story there. I read Dreams of my Father after he gave his speech at the Democratic Convention in Boston. Check it out for yourselves.

I get so sick of hearing about him being black. I get so sick of people defending this and people slandering this.

Personally, his ethnicity or religion does not make me nervous. But his choices he has made and the fact that this bill he has sponsored leads one to wonder if he is anti-american. And no one who is anti-american should be in the office.

I am still searching for the actual bill and there are other bills attached to it...something like 52 I think. This is something thst should be debated, not his birth place.

I couldn't agree with you more taface! I think people are so wrapped up in these stupid rumors that they've forgotten about the issues that actually matter. I would have much more respect for someone debating the policies that Obama is wanting to inforce that they don't agree with. And they might actually be able to sway my opinion of Obama a little bit as I am still a little on the fence with him. But these ridiculous rumors won't do anything to make my opinion of him any less. Bring some real issues to the table people!

Oh and Yestheypayme2dothis, opinions are in no way proof of anything. I can find opinions all day long of people that hate Obama. And that's fine and good everyone is entitled to their opinion. But if you really want to sway peoples vote try bringing real politic issues to the table like the changes Obama will bring that you disagree with.

Everything about him should make you nervous. He is the one who brought up the race issue by saying, "I am running as a black man." If the fact that he is a racist does not bother you, it should.

I read the blog and the link posted in the blog. Think about it. The blog was posted June 10th and the article was posted June 3rd. Do you not think that if this were indeed true that the government would have already found out about it, the media been all over it and Obama would have been booted from the election already? Neither of those links are credible enough.

This man does make me nervous, the fact that he chose to be a part of a church for years with a preacher who spews hate sermons....the fact you wonder if he is anti-american or not (the latest rumor I heard at work is he refused to salute the flag....I will be checking on this.., but again I think it is yet another issue to derail from the actual issues we need to weigh.---Not that someone being anti-american in the office should be taken lightly, and I am not saying he is...but I want to see it myself.)

But I am not going to base my decision when I walk into that voting booth based upon opinions and rumors....that is a HIGH SCHOOL ELECTION in my opinion. We are not voting for the most popular class mate for our senior class....we are voting for someone who will be affecting out lives. And from what I have been hearing lately I have a feeling there are a lot of ignorant voters that will be going into the voting booth and that is dangerous.

The part that scares me the most is when I read an article in TIME magazine a couple of months ago was when the reporter described Obama as a Chameleon.....how scary is that. I know he meant by the fact that he appeals to a variety of groups, but think about it....a chameleon can change their color within minutes....and it does seem he does hold that type of quality....kinda like Clinton.

That makes me nervous....as I do not trust anyone who plays one side one minute and then another to gain popularity...there is an issue of character.

Good for you for researching the rumors before making your opinion. I have no problem with other peoples opinions as long as they aren't stated as fact as the original poster did. It would have been one thing if the original poster posted something like "Rumors state that Obama was really born in Kenya and not Hawaii. This is what I believe to be true. What do you all think?" But no. This person came on here stating a rumor as fact and I just think that is wrong and many many levels.

Prove your allegations. If you cannot prove your allegations than suggest that you retract than rather than trying to defend them. Claiming that something as been falsified simply because you don't like the result does you no good.

Obama has produced his tax returns.
Obama has been very open about his past.
Obama has not laid claim to sainthood only humanity.

The right has taken pot shots at him because they are xenophobic. They continue to take pot shots at him because they fear him, he is a Washington outsider and an unknown thus likely uncontrollable.

As for my personal opinion of Obama, actually I have not posted it. I have also not posted my personal political stand on any issue. Because I don't like fear mongering, I don't like unsubstantiated attacks on any person does not mean that I agree with a persons politics in all cases. It simply means that I am a thinking American citizen who exercises their right to make decisions based upon substantiated information not rumors, fear, bias, and BS.

Personally I find both candidates wanting in many key areas.

I find it interesting that so many of you jump to defend Obama, the great racist of 2008. A man who stays in such a church for 20 years and has Wright as his mentor. What are you people afraid of? Wait until we have universal health care and it takes you 6 months to get a doctor appointment. You might then look back at who this man really is.

While I don't understand why universal health care would lead to it taking 6 months to get an appointment - which already happens in some cases, by the way - that is a legitimate argument or point to debate about. Why can't we do that - discuss the issues instead of these unsubstantiated allegations?

Sounds like Baracks mother knew he would be the chosen one to go to all that trouble. Imagine bording a plane after she gave birth to him, got off in Honolulu, went to the hospital there and said 'write me out a birth certificate' because in the future he's going to be the President.

I think it's because of fraud issues. To keep the certificate number ensures that exact copies cannot be made.

I doubt it. I know for myself that a birth certificate is a 'delicate' piece of information. It's a legal document that is used for the production of a passport and drivers license. Giving the certificate number is a sure fire way of allowing someone to copy it and use it to produce false documents. If banks for instance get copies of these types of documents they are bound to keep those documents strictly confidential. I know I would never allow my drivers license or birth certificate to be shown over the internet. Too many clever people who would go to town on my identification. Why would anyone give out that info, not wise.

As has been mentioned by many on this forum, any person who runs for office would have to verify their citizenship. If running for President they would have to verify they were born in the USA. There is absolutely no way that Obama is not a US born resident. Lets say he is not, as this discussions is about exactly that, the powers that be in this Country are going to have a very very big egg on their face. Total embarrassment.
