What would you do when feeling down?  |

I wonder why sometimes my mood would change very fast from a happy to a down one. I had tried doing many things to blow away my unhappy feeling but still couldn’t pull me back from that. Finally I find the most effective way is to spend my blue time sitting on the bench beside the children playground in a nearby park, watching children playing there. These little kids are so vigorous and they never ever feel tired running and chasing wildly around the playground. Their innocent ways of speaking, true laughing show that how adorable the kids are. They are the angels who really chase away my down feeling. My dear friends, what would you normally do when your feeling is down? Thanks for sharing.

You are very good in finding ways to ease yourself away from the down feeling moment. I do find to sit with cross legs on the floor in the temple could really make us feel peaceful as the atmosphere there is tranquil and holy. 2. cheongyc (2030) | 7 months ago | That's is very good way to drive the bad feeling away when your mode is down. You are very lucky to live nearby by such a nice place. When I am in bad mode, I will try to think about thing that makes me happy. Like thinking of how much that I have earned so far and the achievement that I made. But more often, I will play games or exercise. Games is the best remedy for me to cure unhappiness. The only bad part of it, is sometimes I lack of sleep because too obsessed in playing the game.

But it is rather sad that sometimes I don’t find any kid in the playing ground. Luckily that not far away from the playground there is a site where we could find monkeys hanging around. I like watching the mischievous monkey playing and chasing one another from the ground to the trees and also the other way round. The funny actions of these lovely monkeys could make me refreshed and drive away my unhappy mood. Hi there, it is a nice way to having positive thinking when we are blue. Well I do find some of my friends, just like you, to keep on indulging in playing computer games. I was told that the satisfaction acquired from the challenge would chase away their bad mood. cheongyc (2030) | 7 months ago | Definitely, by concentration on something challenging, we can forget all the unhappiness. It's very much similar to meditation. Although I am not good in meditation, but I think it's a very effective activity to purify our mind and keep it in peaceful state. It's good to have good place where you can enjoy sighting the monkeys. It's not easy to find such a place in urban area now. We need to pay in order to watch the monkey in zoo.

Alot of times I will look at my cats and they make me laugh. They will do something silly and also being on mylot helps too. They are very smart and lovely animals and I believe they could feel and read our feeling when we are together with them. While reading your words I couldn’t help laughing as I had recalled those silly things made by my loved cats before. Yeah, I am glad that there are so many enthusiastic and caring people and you as well to share our feeling here. I will sing as loud if I could and hopefully would not disturb my neighbors...lol. And I tend to look for something to eat too and this is bad because I will definitely eat a lot. Guess food is such a comfort whether you are down, happy, angry or on any occasions. So by keeping myself busy ( Mylot has been getting my attention ) I usually keep those worries at bay and laughing is good to stimulate the good mood. Cheers,

I believe this definitely could keep me away from blue mood. Hey lucky that the neighbor house on my left is rather farther from my house. I think singing loudly in the bathroom won’t disturb my neighbor. Hi my dear, I do enjoy eating very much but I am afraid that take too much food would put on weight. I think to keep ourselves busy by doing mylotting is a good method as well to forget about all those unhappy things. Thanks for your response and happy posting.

When I feel down, I talk to myself, I ask myself, why the hell I am sad........and if nobody is bothered about my being sad, then why should I make them more happy by remaining sad, it would be better to forget everything or accept the facts and let go the whole thing as if it never happened or it was never important.......Talking to yourself helps a lot...... Try it ones.......and think only positive........we have to learn living friend........living lively and not just living....and when you are sad, nobody can help you but your own inner self. This is why people feel peace in meditation, because then there is nobody between you and your conscious.

Thankworthy as so far I still haven’t come across any down feeling. Anyway I would try your suggested method if feeling down aging in time to come. 9. rinkub (149) | 7 months ago | Dear Ikbooi, it's always nice to share your feelings and I'm glad you did with usat mylot. Actually, I suffer a lot from depression ever since I was in college. Even now, my moods are low and it's mixed with anxieties and fears of all kinds. I've tried many ways to uplift my mood whenever I'm low like listening to music or reading a book or talking to friends and family. But, these are all transitory. I get true joy when I turn to my faith. Everything else is impermanent and sometimes even when people want to help they can't because they are limited in their own capacities. Children do bring a lot of joy and also seeing a happy, normal family with a good value system function, brings a strange kind of happiness and a sense of security. But, it is only my faith that brings me hope and encourages me to believe in all the good things that life has to offer. I'm sure you have your own religion and object of worship. Try meditation. Also, I believe yoga helps though I've never tried it myself. Take care of yourself and don't be depressed. You can perhaps engage yourself in some sort of social cause like visiting orphanages or old age homes. Let me know what you have tried. Remember, you are not alone to feel this way but don't wallow in it. Use your time for others who need someone to take care of them. The moment you start giving, you'll feel better, trust me. Take care.

As Mr Croc suffers from depression at times someone needs to be in control of their emotions. I do realise how lucky I am to have my girls and their children close to me both physically and emotionally. Take care.
