The Plight of a Snowflake

Some may think a snowflake's life is filled with fun and glory.
Let me tell you that the truth is a completely different story.

For starters, we are banished from our homes against our will
and whisked around amidst our fall by winds that make us chill.

As we're falling by the trillions, each one of us is cursed
as if, among all dreadful things, we are the very worst!

We are welcomed by hostility wherever we land
with uttered slurs and furrowed brows. The message: "snow be damned!"

There are many deeds that verify exactly what I say -
like your cruel and modern methods meant to cast us all away.

There are shovels, there are plows, and there are people pouring salt.
You all are on vendettas! You think this mess is all our fault?!

And then there are the children (sigh!) who simply love to greet us.
With their sleds and their toboggans, they all carelessly mistreat us.

We are kicked and we are walked on. We are picked up and then thrown.
Can't you people simply learn to leave us all alone?

A snowflake's life, you no, is not a barrel of peaches.
Ya think we like to end all of your fun at the beaches,

and your cook-outs and your camping, and all the fun of summer?
We realize that the wintertime can sometimes be a bummer.

Well now, before I finish, let me say just one more thing:
PLEASE have a little patience! We'll be gone in time for Spring.
