as a chinese student,how to learn english

1st thing to remember... NEVER BE AFRAID OF WHAT OTHER PEOPLE MIGHT THINK OF HOW YOU USE ENGLISH!!! If you'll be afraid, it will be very detrimental in your learning, you will not be able express what you would really love to say because of the worries inside your mind... SO CAST IT OFF!!! I am a Filipino, and English is not our FIRST LANGUAGE... but I manage to learn and be able to use it fluently by ALWAYS using it in my everyday communication. I even try to talk to any foreigner I come acrross to. I am not shy whether my grammar would be funny as long as I am expressing myself clear to them. All I am saying is that...
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!! that's true with learning a new language whether English or other foreign language as well.

my advice would be, watch a lot of american shows...you can try and imitate how they are talking and always ALWAYS read a lot! that way, learning english would be easier:D

Studying English is not easy. It takes time to master it. I'm Filipino and I work as a Customer Care Specialist that takes calls from Untied States. DON'T think in your own language and translate in English, that's wrong. I also suggest that you watch American films more and watch them how they speak and how they pronounce each words.

I do agree with the other posts. Another way to help you specially for your spoken skill is to practice it with the natives. Try to go to this site: http://www.livemocha.com This is a free site that teaches people diffirent languages. Learning English here is very effective. Try it...its free. take care=)
