Does absence truly make the heart grow fonder? |
|
My bf and I have been spending quite a bit less time with one another in the last 30 days. 1st I went to Las Vegas overnight to meet a client, then I came home and it was time to start getting ready to go on a cruise to Jamaica and other points south with another client for a week. Well the cruise was 1 week but we stayed in Miami the day previous to our sail date and the day following our cruise so it was a total of 9 days. It seems that everyone missed me terribly while I was gone. Especially my old man. However a week and a half following my daughter was graduating High School in Las Vegas the 12th and so it was travel cheaper and lighter alone or take him with me? I chose to take him with me, because I wanted to share the experience and I wanted to to stop leaving him home alone. This morning I dropped him off at the airport so that he could go back to Boston, MA for 13 days. Whew! luckily this is almost the last of the traveling that we need to do in this whirlwind of traveling. I have to go back to Vegas next month and after the way he acted this past week (he's been stressed out, and money is extremely tight for our household right now.) I really do not wanna take him, though when I arranged this trip I did invite him, because at the time I did want to take him with me. Everyone always says that absence makes the heart grow fonder for your loved one. I tend to believe that extended absences from your loved one, tend to remind them of how easy it is to get used to living without you. I do not like all this traveling that we are doing lately but that is jsut it, it is neccessary. It is also cheaper to transport one person than it is to take two. Or taking the other is just not financially or logistically possible. Soon we will be the homebodies that I like being again. My question is, do you think that taking extended breaks (1 - 2 wks) if a strengthening factor or do you think that it weakens the bond between you?

But having removed him they almost certainly have promised your hand to another by now or at the least they intend to.

sharone74 (1989) | 7 months ago | Unfortunately the bf is not a subscriber to all of the new technology so what we have is the telephone and that is it. Even if he was computer literate there is no computer at his 89 year old mother's house so the end result would still be telephone or nothing.

4. Vladilyich (1111) | 7 months ago | My wife is a Canadian citizen and I am American. They will only allow her to stay in the U.S. for 6 months and then she has to return. She went back a month ago. I will spend a couple of weeks up there in August, but she won't be back until September.
