should books be replaced by computers (DVDs)?

Well untill computers become affordable for everyone, books will always be around. Especially all of the classic and rare books.

NO, No and No! they should not be replaced. I am a page turner and not a fan of audio books and CD's and DVD's. I do know some peopel can't be bothered with books and paper piling up, but I can't do without them...

I know that technology is quickly repalcing alot of old media! One can see how tv is going all digital and 'rabbit ears' on sets will have gone the way of the dinosaur. The idea, on the other hand, that cd/dvd/or other electronic media will replace books is, to me, insane. Books will always be a handy and enjoyable way of sharing and reading stories. Good post though! Something to think about!

What is the use of "paper",other than providing knowledge? If we can read and learn the "same thing" from computers with efficiently utilizing resources,why should we NOT?
To me,texts on a computer screen and texts inside a book are same.

no, book will never been replaced, it is simple for me, book dont need electric energy so that we can read it, but if the power is down can you hear or use digital media, for me it is a best combination of books and digital media, you can get information both of it too, so dont just let the books disappear cause you will need it latter.

i dont think so. books or paperbacks are still more convenient. i love reading ebooks, and they are wonderful because it is easy to copy quotes and print it out later but sometimes i wish i have a printer book copy so i can read them at the comfort of the bed, or sofa...:D

No i dont think this is an good idea, when you read books you gain knowledge faster then when you read on computer. there are so many side effects when you work more hours on computers.

i think books should b used still because it helps the mind be more active instead of staring at a computer the whole time. it helps alot to me. i liked using books because it made me feel like i was doing something. LOL with a computer u type in one word and u have the answer thats not so helpful to me, it doesnt help with everything being given to u that easily. i feel if u work harder to find it you will feel u have succeeded more

I like reading a book myself, you can sit more comfortably in a chair or on your bed, rather than sitting up at a desk reading. I hope they will always keep making books.

I don't think so.Traditional approach of book and paper can't be replaced by Computer CD/DVD etc.
There are many advantages are there over books and paper but still it will not be possible.CD/DVD can store more data in less space even it is cheaper than books.
but Computer is very much required to use CD/DVD. Everyone can't afford computer in current situation.Book you can read anytime even if Power is not at your home but electricity is very much required to play CD/DVD.

we cant read for long time on computer but we can do in books in a single strech we can finish entire book in different different position.
we can read book while lying on the bad.
So it will take very long time to replace book by CD and DVD.
