I 've really been going through it lately. I've been stressed out over sever recent events in my life and need some ideas on how to stay stress free. Girl problems, money problems, Living arrangement problems. What do you do for stress relief?

Sometimes I cannot focus my mind to meditate and thats when I know I'm too stressed out. I do believe in the power of the mind and meditating though and I am willing to try.

| 2. besslee (20) | 4 months ago | Hi, As my response for another discussion,I always talk to my friends or do something with my friends,like shopping,seeing a moive,doing some sports and so on, to stay stree free.I think friends are the best way.They sometimes can help me solve the problem, but sometimes they don't even need to do anyting else and just listen to me. Friends are always on your side.

I promise you not one lives in SC. I wish I could hang out with my friends like that I do believe that would be an excellent stress reliever.

Not everybody but down south is the first time I heard someone say to me,"I sure wish I could read and write!" I still think this is good advice though thank you.

Recently I have moved, and while I am planning on moving back to the beach, as of right now it is not within walking distance like it used to be. THIS WAS MY HAVEN WHEN I WAS STRESSED!!! I'd go down to the beach and sit out there for awhile and it would calm me. I TOTALLY agree with this response, thank you!

6. Amberina (667) | 4 months ago | Some of my friends will go do some extreme exercise to relieve stress, for me what works is doing housework I scrub the he!! out of the bathtub lol. I just work myself to death then I am too darn tired to think about stress and it gets out some of the anger I am feeling. When you have so much going on in your life you have negative feelings and just getting them out by doing something physical like tennis or racket ball or running even punching a pillow will help get those negative feelings out. Especially since the source of my frustrations are usually right there in punching distance. Why go to the gym? LOL

7. risris24 (556) | 4 months ago | I hear you on that and you are not alone, I have been having musch of the same problems, actually the exact same, and in the beginning I moped around like whoa is me but now I came to terms with certain issues and just realize that if you are in a negative situation just try to think of some things like improvements you can make on your end that would make life easier for you, especially since when it comes to people (your girl problems) you cannot change someone else. I'm not saying change for her, but like me, if you want things to work out, and there are some things that are not good right now, look at it from a different perspective and see if there is anything that you can do to improve the situation, without changing who you are or what you believe in. As for the living arrangements, I live with my sister and it is so tense sometimes and over the smallest and most insignificant things that I find when it is like that, I either go in my room and close the door and put on a good movie and try to forget about it or I remove myself from my situation and go by a friends place or hang out with people who I know I will have a good time with an djust try to forget. Because tomorrow is a new day and maybe if you sleep on it, you will come up with a better solution. As for finances, I think most of us are in the same boat and all I can say is if you are in a secure job even if the money isn't so great stick with it because right now job security is key. You can always look for something else to do as an added income, but with todays rising prices of everything, how much income is really enough for average working people like us?

shamsta19 (451) | 4 months ago | I do ok financially but I had a hard few months and a breakup just been down. Things are looking better. I find alone time is a good stress reliever for me. Just fishing for more ideas. I'm living with mom while I'm between moves. It's looking like I'll be here through the summer. It's stressful, and crowded. I really like having my own place. Oh man the freedom is great!!! Thing is apartments don't really open up around here until after the tourist season ends. So I am sort of stuck until the end of summer less I get lucky and I am looking!!!!

Feeling overwhelmed with so many problems, feeling isolated from friends and family can lead to feeling stressed out all the time. The main thing to remember in stress management is to keep breathing. When I say keep breathing, I don't mean taking "normal" breaths, but breathing from the diaphram. Try lying on the floor or on the bed, and put a fairly heavy book on your stomach and concentrate on making the book go up and down just by breathing. You'd be surprised just how badly we all breathe. By posting here on myLot, you can vent frustrations, ask for advice or just use the other members as sounding boards. At any rate, there's not "cure" per se for stress, but it can be managed. Hope this helps some.
