I need help with my Chili.........

Rinse the kidney beans till it runs clear. You don't want the 'sediment' from the beans that has setteled in the bottom of the can. Lori

I have always rinsed my beans before adding them to my chili. I have always been told that rinsing the cloudy stuff off of the beans before using them helps to cut down on the gas that a lot of people get from beans.

You can rinse them or just add them either way. Rinsing them makes it easier on the digestion (some people have a hard time digesting the complex sugars found in beans cause they lack the enzyme needed to break it down I am one of those people but I usually drain one can and just add the other).

hi Diane, we cook chili in different varieties here at home. When we use kidney beans we take the canned ones and rinse them first as we find that dark thick substance not too appetizing.

When I make chili, I always use the Bush's brand light red kidney beans. Depending on how many cans I use is how much of the juice I use. Such as if I use four cans, I'll use the juice of two cans. That way I won't get too much juice with the tomato sauce and the spices will get cooked into the chili and not be overwelmed.

I dump in the whole thing. But I also add tomato paste and/or masa flour depending on what variation I'm making.

I drain and rinse my beans. This makes it easier on digestion and for those who have problems (gas) after eating beans this lessons that effect. you can add the whole can if you want but it is better in my opinion to rinse them.

You can add the juice if you awnt to. I add about half of it, because I don't want it to be too strong of a taste of the kidney beans. I also put in pork and beans and tomatoes and celery and green peppers and onions and mushrooms and porbably more stuff that I am not thinking of right now. I love my chili and so does my family so I do make it about once every two weeks or so. I think I will make some for supper tomorrow night, come to think of it. I have every thing I need at home so I don't have to go buy anything so I think I will make it.
