Arent they already american idiots  | |  theyre album american idiot kinda contradicts them selves. as you can see they say they dont want to be an american idiot. however, being a musician and making the music thye do and even looking like they do is whaty i would classify as an american idiot. any opinions?

 nicholejade (1372) | 4 months ago |  By the way they are not British. Billie Joe and Mike started a band called Sweet Children in 1987 and forming the now known band Green Day in the early 1990. In 1992 - 1993 they did however go on tour to play a stretch of shows in Europe. Billie Joe and Mike formed Sweet Children October 17th, 1987 at Rod's Hickory Pit in Vallejo California.

Mike Dimit - born in Berkley, California
Tre Cool - born in Frankfurt, Germany (with Green Day from 1990 - present)

They have alot of great songs and there are some that I don't care for but to each their own. Just because they have an album called "American Idiot" doesn't make them American Idiots. There are probably lots of people out there that think the music you like to listen to makes the bands, singers etc idiots.

If they were that horrible they would never of even signed to a record company. No they don't take themselves seriously which is a good thing. If they were so self abosorbed on themselves yes it would making them a crappy band.
