My grandbaby will not call me Grandma!  |

 I have decided on what I want my going to be new baby grandchild to call me. I want to be called Granny Weezy.
You say What kind of name is that?
My Granny is the most favorite person in the world to me. She was the only one in the world who loved me and my sisters unconditionally when we where growing up. She was there for us when our parents where not. She is now 90 years old and has dementia so bad she does not even remember some days who I am. But I remember her and who she use to be.
So I want to be called Granny.
Weezy is my nice name. I started calling myself that because when I was little I could not say my first name and my middle name is Louise. Well Weezy stuck, my two beautiful nephews and my two sisters call me Weezy. Why not my grand baby? I had to ask my sisters what they thought of it first. They both think it is right for me. They know I am the only one that can be called Granny Weezy. I will have the grand baby call me plan old Granny but when they have to talk about me I will be Granny Weezy to let people know that is Dad's mom.
I have not told my son and his girlfriend yet, I will the next time I see them. They are coming July 3 to see us.
So do you all think of Granny Weezy and do your grandchildren have special names for you?

I don't have any grandchildren yet, but when I do I wouldn't mind them calling me something different than grandma. You call out grandma and everyone turns around. I told the kids this weekend that I want to be called Granny. They said OK. I do not know what else they would have said. My son has already picked the name he wants to be called when he is a grandfather. He want to be called Papa ----- Silly me I cannot remember what the other name is. I know I don't like grandma, and I don't like granny. I'm thinking of NANA. The reason I want to go with Monga is that my daughter use to call my mom Monga as that is how grandma came out for her. But you know what they are going to call us what they want to call us!

The baby's other grandmother is a flake, she smokes pot and does other drugs a lot. She has hooked up with a guy 15 years younger then her. She blames my son's girlfriend for her messed up life. She is so much like my mom. I met the woman once and that was enough. She has tattoos, several piercings all over her face, died jet black hair and loads of makeup. I have not met the boyfriend and I do not care to me him. In fact I do not care for her to be around MY grandchild at all. I think that is one reason they want to move back to our area. To get away from her screwed up family.
When my son's girlfriend went to the doctor's for some test results she called me with them before she called her mom. I feel blessed.

My husband's parents and my parents are divorced, so he has 4 sets of grandparents. He has a Gran and Grand-dad and a Maw-maw and Paw-paw. He calls my mom G G, which is short for Grandma Ginny. She didn't want to be called grandma or grandmother either. He calls my dad Grandpa. My parents aren't remarried yet, but he will probably end up just calling my mom's fiancee Russell and my Dad's girlfriend Liz.

We called the first one Grandpa, the second one Jimmy and the third one Bill until my kids where born and he wanted to be called Granddad. So he became Granddad until he died. He was the best grandfather to me even if he was not a bio-grandfather.
My son's girlfriend's mom has had three husbands and now on her a fourth who is a live in. I do not know what the baby will call them or even if they will be a part of the child's life. The mom does not seem to want to be involved in the girlfriends life at all. All the mom wants to do is work and smoke pot. What a life not one for me.
I miss my children and if I do not hear from them at least once a week I call them. | |

The fallowing two years my daughter and I just fell in love with granny. She was one special woman. And for my daughter who has many grandmas there was only one Granny. She has been gone for the last 4 years but we still miss her and little things remind us of her. Your right there is not a better name than Granny.
When my little brother was born her could not say my name, but he did call me Nana in stead of Dana. That name has stuck to with my nieces and nephews. The greatest present I got was one Christmas was a sweater that stated "Aunt Nana." I know Nana is another word for grandma. but I still love it when the call me it.

My mom who is not a nice person calls herself Nana. I love that name but will not be associated with her. I take care of her but I do not want to be anything like her or around her. I have not even told her she is going to be a great grandmother. I may not.
I love it when my nephews call me Auntie Weezy. My youngest nephew is 10 years old. Last winter he came running in his home after school when I was there and yelled the in the house "Hay Auntie Weezy, where are you?" I loved it. He then gave me a big hug and told me he loved me.
