Regular Pogo, Club Pogo? |
|
Okay so I broke down and joined Pogo.com yesterday then proceeded to play a good hours worth of Word Whomp with my daughter (my husband joined in when he got home from work LOL it was comical actually)...I'm officially addicted...to Word Whomp at least since thats the only game I've played so far LOL My questions are these - how many of you are members at Pogo? - how many of you are CLUB Pogo members? - What is the difference between Club Pogo and regular Pogo - have any of you won anything at Pogo? - what the hell are badges and what are they for? I think thats my only complaint so far about the website, finding a full discription of the site and getting FAQs isnt as easy as I think it could or shoudl be.... mmmmm coffee

| 1. wuzzle29 (65) | 7 months ago | Oh I see you are soon on your way o being a Pogo addicit like the rest of there. I do belong to the Club Pogo versin of the site. As free member I was getting tire of all the boring ads and intermissions between games. In the Club side of it we get weekly challenges for badges, they are just little avitars you can display beside you name, nothing more. No I have yet to win anything, and most of us there feel they are rigged and real people do not win them but proving it is hard to do. Yes thewebsite does need to do a better job of explaining the site but for the most part it is fun just to be there ad play a few game(okay more like a few whours worth). My screen name there is wuz344 so if yu ever see me just drop in and say hello.

2. Wizzywig (1232) | 7 months ago | I'm a club pogo member and at about 60p a week its not a lot for the variety of games there. I like the way they have obviously taken a lot of trouble over the presentation of the games. I've never won anything (except wallpaper) and don't expect to. We have a small digital photo printer and, when I've got 12 new badges, we print them onto one sheet so I have them in an album. I know ...kinda sad but.... Enjoy yourself but don't expect to get anything else done from now on!

3. oneandonemakesix (24123) | 7 months ago | Hey Raven Member of Pogo since 1999, although I lost my account when I switched from AOL, um yeah right ok, np, so I've been a member since 2000,or 2001... Got fed up with the ads every 8 minutes, yes I timed them, and joined club pogo late 2004, my official join date off the trial membership to Club Pogo was Jan 4, 2005, it took me until 2007 to get caught up on all my badges from 2003 until I joined mid December. Badges, or computer icons that you can brag about getting for completing a challenge, totally worthless, I know, but they are fun to get, Win anything hmmmmm a 10.00 off code to the EA store, a boatload of wallpapers and screen savers..... but the no web commercials makes the 40.00 a year (the price of a big mac super sized value meal or less a month price all worth while) I use my earnings from mylot to pay for my Club Pogo, badges, adn gems... I have a free pass I can send you if you like ot club Pogo and you can try it... The upside of club pogo is there are games you can't play as a free member, Like Word Whomp Whackdown, or Qwerty, or Canasta Mooch

oneandonemakesix (24123) | 7 months ago | Word Whomp Whackdown, is a similar to Word Whomp, but the letters are not in a row you have 3 rows you have to try to make words from and the letters have to be adjoining, has a pause button and is much better than Word Whomp. And if you like Scrabble you will LOVE Qwerty, which is a twist on Scrabble. Mooch PS did you know you can use the keyboard for Word Whomp? and don't have to use the mouse?

oneandonemakesix (24123) | 7 months ago | I have been a member of Pogo since it first started and needless to say I have never gotten a virus from it, yes they put in tracking cookiesbut I have never had any problems with viruses. I can understand you not playing there again, but this is something I would email support about, it could have been that they got their server hacked into, I don't know, but I would at least tell Pogo the problems you had, maybe if there was something on their server they could make sure its more secure. I've been a member since 1999 under 2 different names I lost my account when I ditched AOL, and started a new account, but never have I gotten any virus, did you click on any of the ads at all? Sometimes that will be how it happened. Mooch

5. Reesers (697) | 7 months ago | LOL...welcome to the addiction! For the longest time I play Poppit and that's only because I saw the link on AOL. It was awhile before I discovered the rest of the site and eventually I did become a Club Pogo member about two years ago. It's much better without having the ads. And each week I look forward to the new badges, unless it's a game I hate! Other than a bunch of wallpapers and screensaves, I've also won $5. It's not a lot (be nice if it had been the jackpot!) but I guess it's better than nothing. It pretty much paid for a month of subscription. Use a free pass like Mooch suggested so you can check out the other cames. Some of those are just as addicting!

6. Goodie123 (7434) | 7 months ago | So you joined afterall. You will now be a Pogo and Mylot addict. LOL I joined in february this year. I ended up by paying the membership fee's as we can play more games then a free member ca. The only things I have ever won are wallpapers for my computer. I do not know if I will pay membership next year. Firstly I was told because I live in australia I cannot win any of their cash prizes. Then I was sent an email asking me to join. I will see when the time gets closer.

7. atacamaval (2307) | 7 months ago | Let´s see. I´m a pogo addict. I started to play poker there about 3 years ago because I wanted to have some free fun and learn the game. Then I saw other games, but they had this minutes of waiting for the comercials (only for free members). Finally someone gave me a pass and I found that there were other games (I hate to be left out of things. LOL). One thing led to another. There´s a mini market where you buy from dresses to backgrounds for your avatar. You buy it with the tokens you earn playing. My closet is full. LOL Badges are nice if you like to collect things or if you want rewards for acomplishments. I do. Once, only once in more than a year, I won $5. But I couldn´t have it as I did not meet the requirements. They don´t give cash to pogo international pogo members. Maybe canadians, but definitibly not chileans, as I am. I love pogo. You make friends as you do here. You learn new games. And I think it´s not that expensive. Have fun

9. HouseKat (664) | 7 months ago | I am a Club Pogo member and have been for a long time. I have since gotten both my parents, my brother and sister-in-law, my grandmother and both my kids hooked on Pogo. We all have memberships so we can win badges and shop at the mini mall. We love it because, sinceI live at least 1000 miles from all my family, we can keep in touch and have fun at the same time. My parents and grandma will private chat with my kids while they all play games. It is almost like being together when you are sharing a game. I think my favorite game is still Lottso, although the new Addiction Solitaire is a close second.

10. Remembering1996 (1814) | 7 months ago | I am a club pogo member and I used to play it all the time but then came across mylot and am here now more often than club pogo. I still pop in to club pogo once in a while. The difference between reg. pogo and club pogo is reg. pogo you are limited the number of games that they put up and have intermissions. Club pogo you have extra games that you can earn badges with the weekly challenges and you don't have intermissions that drive most people nuts. I pay for the yearly package deal and they sent you a notice went your subsciption is about to end. I have mine automatically taken from my checking account when my renewal is near and don't have to worry about it. I hope you enjoy playing all the cool games and meeting alot of cool people in there have fun and take care.
