Unless its a lost cause, that is.
I have tried to win approval of certain people in my life which mattered to me but in spite of all my determination I did not get that approval. So after trying and trying some more I just stopped to run after that "prize" of acceptance like mad and felt much better after having given up on that.
Right now I am on sick leave because of a herniated disc in the lower back and was in hospital for a week. I got out of there, the pain a little better than when I got in there, about 30 percent, and went to the doctor to get a prescription for the necessary meds.
He filled out said prescription and one of the meds is fairly strong. I said to myself, I am determined to live with out that stuff. I only want to use it in case of emergency, that is, when the pain is so bad I cant lie down and sleep or not sit any longer.
But so far, and I am out of hospital for the fifth day now, I have NOT taken that stuff and I think that shows I am quite determined.
