Do You Turn on your Air Conditioner 7/24 in the Summer?

We have to run the AC all the time
here. It's not even optional.
It's so hot, near 100 degrees daily.

So we'd burn up if not for our
window AC units.

Well, using electric fans than air conditioners can definitely save you money on your electric bills since they consume less energy and is more practical nowadays. I usually just turn on my air conditioner when it's really hot. And when i do, i always make it sure to use the timer and adjust the thermostat to 80 degrees. I also clean the filters every 2 weeks to make sure that my air conditioner would work as effectively as it should.

Never. I love the heat. I don't even like fans on. We turn it on for a little while in the hottest part of the day in order to make sure that it cools down a bit for sleeping, but we seldom run it for more than a few hours and never continuously.

We have our A/C set at 77-80 degrees all day & night during the summer. We do run ceiling fans in our living room and the 2 bedrooms.

i would not keep it on for whole day. i would swtich on switch off and use table fans instead also. coz then who would pay the electricity . best is using table fan

I dont turn it on the whole day. then who will pay the PG&E bill:-). I open the windows and patio door and I used table fans and ceiling fans. Also using AC always is not good for health too.

No, I won't turn on my air conditioner 1/24 in summer as it's not necessary. Actually these days it's becoming hot. Since the heavy rain in the past days, the temperature isn't hot. But it seems the summer finally arrives since there is no rain from Saturday. We will turn on our air conditioner some times. And sometimes we turn on the fan instead because it saves the electricity.

We do leave our air conditioning on all summer as we live in a hot summer heat. There would be no surviving without it. We do try to leave it set on 78 degrees or so. Thus, it's not freezing cold. When we are gone all day, we sometimes turn it up so the air conditioning will run less often. Definitely, I've got to have air conditioning on when I'm trying to sleep in a really warm climate.

i hear ya about having to sleep when it is hot like that. i would rather tough it out all day as well being a little bit warm than have to sleep at night being hot and not being able to sleep at all. but since that it has gotten summer time here in Tennessee where that i live, what i do to keep it cooled down somewhat in the house during the day, is i keep all of my ceiling fans going and i have the central air conditioner set back to like eighty-two degrees inside all of the time, then that way the air conditioner unit doesn't run all day long. it kicks on and off all day when need be. even when my family and i aren't home, we leave all of the ceiling fans on and the air conditioner kicked way back on ninety degrees so that the dog will not get too hot as from being left inside alone all day or for a couple of days. when we are gone overnight somewhere, my brother or my oldest son will come over and let the dog in and outside for us.
