this may be a stupid question

no if you pull up the certain interest some times at the bottom of the list there is a "leader board" that shows members and numbers by then and they have "show all" i thought it was the same as the discussions but why would they repeat it in a different style?? it only comes up like either every other page or every few if you go through the diff posts

if you're talking about the person they show under it with like a number next to it that's the person that posts the most discussions under that particular subject...not sure if that's what you're talking about I'll double check.

I double checked, are you talking about how there are other subjects? I know that when you click on one they show more discussions from that interest. I think they do it by most recent. Not positive though. Probably just so you can respond to other subjects in that interest.
