Iraq my bleeding country when will the blood stop? the 1st discusse.`

I know this is a very confusing conflict, I do not claim to understand what is going on, I too would like to see the people of Iraq have peace in their lives as every person on the earth should have..we in the western world see proplr of that country asking for help but then others condeming the help they get, it is very hard for prople in a peaceful country stand by and see people in other countries being down trodden, if we in the western world stood back and did nothing it would be seen as sweeping peoples pain under the carpet, but when they try and help they get blamed for interfering, as I said every single person should be able to live in peace and have a say who they want to lead their country, What can the world do, what do the majority of the Iraq people want...I wish the people of your country peace in the near future but I just wish someone would come up with the answer...Peace to you all my friend...

It may not stop for a long time. There are several countries who have an interest in keeping the fights and bombings going for a long time. Those are the countries who will finance such undertakings and provide the resources and training. Iran, for example, is one of them. They as much as admitted to it. Syria, too. There are others. Even if the Americans move all of the troops out, you would have one of these countries move in in a heartbeat.

This all has really very little to do with religion and much more with the desire for power and financial profit. Religion is just a smokescreen they put up to find enough people to go along with them. Only if you essentially brainwash people into being religious fanatics and promise them all the goodies of the afterlife in exchange for them 'volunteering' for suicide missions, will you be able to rage such an effective war on the 'non-believers'. Religion is a powerful tool but can easily be misused.

None of the religions involved promote violence. But the texts used to spread the message, may it be the Qran or the Bible, or whatever, are vague enough that they allow for both interpretations if one is only creative enough. Fortunately, there are many who believe in the non-violence versions. But it only takes a few to spoil it for all:(

For your country's sake, for your friends' sake, for your family's and for your sake, I hope that those fanatics wake up and see the truth. I hope that you will be able to live together again, in peace and in a prosperous environment. Please keep safe!

Over the years I have met a few people from Iraq. Before I met my husband (an American) I was seeing an Irqui Kurd who got out during the Iraq Iran war. I don't beliee most of what I hear on the news, and I know that terrible things must be happening in your country.

My husband fought in the Viet Nam war, and he eels that Iraq is that dirty war all over again, this generation's Viet Nam.

i know you people are facing a lot of problems in iraq.earlier in saddams rule also,in iraq there are plenty of holy places like ramallah & othrs and it was corrupted and people making lot of sins such as not following islamic rules .the problem shiyas and sunnis were there earlier too in sadams rule.bcoz sadam used to support one group and other group used to be silent bcoz they cannot defend sadam.and now sadam is no more groups are clashing .when india was under british rule they followed a policy called divide and rule and the same policy applied to you people bcoz if two groups fight among themselfs they cannot unite together and fight for a cause.islam do support killing of people but only for holy cause .so my suggestion is stick together and sought out your problems

My sympathy has always been for the good people of Iraq, since before this awful war began. I believe the war has encoured more terrorism that there was before it started. Now there seems no way to stop the fighting and killing in Iraq.

I wish there could be peace. The situation in Iraq is unacceptable. I hope there can be a solution to it soon.

Yes, I can understand that you people were better off under Saddam, no matter how dictator he was. He was after all one of your own, your own national leader. He understood you inside out. What you have now is a coalition of foreign forces who are forcefully trying to make you accept something which you don’t want to accept. They know nothing about your country, your beliefs, your likings, your heritage. Naturally they are faltering at every step and the more frustrated they become, the more brutal they grow. I also know that even being a Muslim country, Iraq was quite secular in its views.

thanks for the insight on your country and its my first time to know the real,score of what really is going on inside Iraq after Husein's downfall...i really cant imagine why those gangs take advantage of the situation which the citizen were caught in the middle..im so sad of this..i hope that it will end ...God knows when (the killing)

My heart bleed for the people of Iraq. Saddam is simiar to our president now and the only difference is that she kissed the a$$ of bush. I will never accept wars started because of greed and arrogance and the women, children and the youth are always the victims. It is so sad too that many lives are wasted just to satisfy the greed of super powers.

American friends! Ask your president to stop this war and pull out all troops out of Iraq. Dont you remember what happend in vietnam? Do you want another vietnam? Its all started in the name of WMD(weapons of mass destruction). Instead this US sponsored war has done beyond mass destruction. A peaceful country was torned. Millions killed, mutilated, replaced. Economic damage is uncalculable. Every american is answerable to this crime.
