Choosing between Family and Boyfriend  | |  My boyfriend and i kept our relationship from my family for almost 5 years. The time my mom found out from someone she got really mad and i understand that. I'm not mad to the person who told my mom but i'm mad that she told my mom bad things about my boyfriend. So now i have a hard time defending him to my mom because of what the person have told her.Now my mom letting me choose between her or him. My mom dont like the guy because: He is 12 years older and the status of his life and mine. My mom thought that were over but the truth is were not. So what do you think my boyfriend and I will do? Right now he is doing good in his and sooner he will prove to my mom that he is worthy to be my partner in life.

If you love each other and you are both of age, then you should probably marry, unless he is married. My mother did not approve of my wife until after we had grandkids, then all was forgiven. LOL. Mothers can be very controlling, but like I told my wife concerning her mother, you're not really an adult until you break away from your parents and make your own decisions... and sometimes not then either.:-)

As I do not see what is really making your mom disapproved except of course the age of him. Hope everything goes fine with you and hopefully you and your mom could meet what is really wrong with the relationship you have.
