The doctor said my pelvic bone is tearing! |
|
I posted a discussion on here about a month ago about having a lot of pelvic pain when i was walking and sleeping. When I went to the doctor he told me that my ligaments were stretching due to my pregnancy and gave me a maternity belt, which helped when I was standing. It no longer hurts when I walk but when I am in the bed at night, it has gotten worse. I cant turn over or get up out of the bed without my husbands help because it is so painful. For the past week or two everytime I change position or get up at night I have heard an awful popping noise and felt like something was tearing from my pelvic region. It has brought me to tears a couple of times. When I went to my doctor today, he told me that my pelvic bone is actually microscopically tearing and thats what I am feeling. That explains all the pain! He said that the only thing I can do is continue to wear my maternity belt during the day while I am up on my feet and hope it helps a little but the pain will probably continue until the end of my pregnancy. Ouch! I am not happy about that at all.

3. checapricorn (7426) | 4 months ago | Hi kimcook, I'm sorry to hear about that, it will be surely hard to take any medication or fix it this time that you are pregnant...Maybe there is a special massage to help you feel better and have less pain! I am not sure but maybe that is possible!

4. jer31558 (2270) | 4 months ago | I am so sorry. How much further do you have to go? Just keep telling yourself it will be worth it in the end. Do they know why this is happening(vit. or calcium deficiney) or is it just one of those things?

5. faln_angel1205 (810) | 3 months ago | Oh my friend, i sympathize with you. I had the same thing from week 22 til the end, and it was still hurting up to about 2 wks after i had my son. They say that women can have pain til almost a yr after in some rare cases. Its far more common than anyone realizes...a friend of mine had it with both pregnancies...second time wasnt as bad as the first. I couldnt walk, stand, sit or anything for more than a cpl mins at a time, i was constantly moving. They took me off work (i was a secretary for a hotshot of a big company) i was either stuck at desk answering phones, or walking between the 4 buildings on the campus, and i cried most of the day til my 27th week, finally i told the doc i cant do this anymore, so he took me off work. Nothing helped for the pain, they said i could try aleve once in a while but it did nothing. I decided to not have a second child due to this, not cuz i was selfish and dint want to go through th pain..but try taking care of toddler while feeling like that...no way, it would be worse for the child you have. sure i may not have had it again, but cant guarantee it, so wasnt chancing it. I didnt wnat to start over with a new baby when he started kindergarten, so i made the choice. he is a very happy kid so i dont regret that decision..sry went off on another topic. I wish i could give some input on what to make you feel better, the only thing that relieved any pain was laying on my back in bed. Thats how i had to sleep til the pain was gone. good luck, and in the end, believe it or not, the pain is worth it, cuz of the precious bundle of joy you will have. And know that you are not alone.

kimcook1985 (692) | 3 months ago | Oh my! I hope that the pain doesnt last that long. I understand what you mean about not having another baby because you couldnt take care of your first while you are in that much pain. my pain hasnt gotten that bad but I was in the bed for the first four or five months of my pregnancy throwing up all day and in and out of the ER. My son was three at the time and I could not take care of him. For that reason I have also decided not to have anymore children. How would I take care of two in that position?

I'm not prego nor that much over weight but the best thing I can tell you if not all ready get lots of pillows to support your back and one between your knees. Also durring the day use a ice pack on your hip that hurts and do kegal excercises. I hope this helps and I pray your deleivery goes well!

7. patriciaqualls (1216) | 3 months ago | Hi kim, I am so sorry you are going through this pain right now. I have heard this is more common with when you are having a boy. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. But because they are lower than girls something like that. Sounds so painful. I hope your pregnancy goes well until you have him. And I hope the delivery goes smoothly as well. Congratulations!! Take care, Patricia
