Why do people never get contented with what they have?

Because no matter what they have, they are always striving for something better. It's a shame, too. The happiest people on Earth are generally the poorest people on Earth. Not that they wouldn't like to better themselves, but they get used to what they have and learn to enjoy it. They say the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, but that's not true. It's still just grass.

That is because of the way we are. We always more want more, in what ever sphere in life. We want to have the best and structure our lives around wanting to achieve this. We are alos influenced by the people around us and want to live our life equal to or better than them.

Because as long as we live we have so much to get. We have our needs from basic needs to physiologic needs and even self-actualization. People have to live to attain goals in life, we are not here just for living but to exist and do our best to make our life worthy and fruity. We have to strive and struggle everyday for us to make things possible.
We are not contented with what we have because we have to earn more than what we have to live and eat at least 3 times a day.

cause as soon as we do, we give it our all, we care, we love, we give attention, etc.. - she doesn't want you anymore. She no longer wants the attenton. it's why i always fail with women (cause i'm content) and why bad boys always win. women are more emotional and they love the emotions of "wondering" if we care or not. women love the chase.

yea, nice guys finish last, but were only husband material, we still don't ever strike that passion in her like the bad boys do.

so sad! humans always wanting the grass greener.

because of what we naturally are, with what the world presents to us in the tv's, internet, we have that tendency to have that, or have something better. We are never contented as long as we continue to seek what we do not have. But I think the secret to being content is seeking more of what we have.

I'm pretty content with what I have... I have a beautiful daughter, beautiful girl friend who loves me & my daughter as her own... I have a decent job, got a car that runs good, roof over our heads... What I'm not content with has nothing to do with material things... I'm not content with just sitting around doing nothing... I'm always looking to improve our lives, not in materialistic way but with experiences, knowledges, constantly learning something new...

because it is inherent nature of man/woman. There would be no progress if people aren satisfied way they are. No TV, NO Computer, No car, No freeze, no promotions in the job....
