At what age did you get your ear pierced?

i cant remember anymore. but as what i know, my mom let my eyes be pierced when im still a baby. i am the eldest in the family, and as what mothers do usually they want to dress up their little girls. my mother likes to give me pairs of earrings. she would buy me one every month, i guess. sad to say, i always lost it. haha!

I have never had my ears pierced and have no plans to do so. I dont have anything against piercings, I just dont feel the need to have any myself.

When I lived at home with my parents my father wouldn't allow it. He thought it was barbaric to put holes in your body that aren't supposed to be there. Of course this was back in the 60's & 70's when piercings weren't as popular as they are today. At the age of 20 I was 900 miles from home and had started my own life so for beauty and fashion sake I got them pierced.

Out of respect for my father I waited until after he died to get my 2nd and 3rd set of ear piercings and my tattoos. He didn't say anything about the 1st piercing but I think he would have strongly objected to the rest!

I didn't have any problem with the 1st or 2nd set but the 3rd set was way up at the top of my ear, in the cartilage. No matter what I tried it just wouldn't heal. After fighting with them for 3 months I finally took out the earrings and let the holes grow over. Even with that one problem I have never regretted any of my piercings or tattoos.

I don't have any children but if I had a daughter I would wait until she was old enough to make her own decision as to whether she wanted the piercings or not. I know it's traditional in many cultures and that's fine, but I wouldn't get my baby's ears pierced.

I'm your average Anglo male, born in the mid 60s and raised in the 70s and 80s. Got my left ear pierced the first time when I was 18 and had moved away from home for the fist time. Mom and work didn't like it and work forced me to take it out the 2nd or they would fire me. i got me left pierced 2 times at once the 2nd time when I was 28, and wore those piercings for many years before letting them grow over, and most recently at 43 years old, did I get my left ear double pierced again. back then I was a "long hair with full beard, and a bit rebellious, now a days, I'm short hair with a VanDyke, trimmed very tight. I suppose western society has loosened-up a little about piercings in general, but I took a lot of flack for it in my younger days.

I was ten months old when my ears were first pierced. My mom was just at the store one day and they did piercings there so she had them done. She figured you wouldn't remember the little pain of it if you're a baby still. She said she just asked me if I wanted 'pretty ears like mommy's' and did it (cause well, I was too young to really answer:P ).
I got my second, third and fourth sets of holes in my ears when I was about 17.

my nanna was pretty strict when she was raising me and said that if i was to wear earrings, then god would have made me with holes in my lobes, she finally caved in on my 16th birthday and i had little gold sleepers put in, she would not allow me to wear big dangly things until i was older....now since then i have had my nose done on both sides and 3 more piercings in both ears, and a belly button ring, i still only wear one set of earrings and i have since taken the other studs out of my nose and out of my belly button....too old for all that now....

I got my first one done on my 16th birthday. I wanted one way sooner than that, but my Mum was dead set against it. A combination of my constant going on about it and my sister wearing her down finally forced her to give in and take me on my birthday in order to make sure I got it done properly and in a respectable establishment.

My mom used to say that when i was 4 months old.. i got ear piercing ceremony done.. and they say, i was wearing the ring till when i was two years old.. and after which i used to remove it from my ears.. and throw away.. so they desisted from wearing rings anymore.. I was once mischievous boy.. hahaha..

I got my ears pierced the night before I started 6th grade, so I was, I guess about 11. I got it done at Wal-Mart when I was doing back to school shopping. Unfortunately everytime I have gotten my ears pierced I have gotten infections, so now I don't really wear earrings. The odd thing is, when I was about to turn 18 I finally was able to convince my mom and dad to let me get my lip pierced, something I wanted since I was like 13! And I didn't get any infection with that. The same with my nose piercing. I don't have those anymore, but I'd love to get pierced again.

I got my ears pierced when I was 13. My parents originally said that I would have to wait until I was 16, but I nagged so much they gave in!
