What Will Your Children Do After Graduation? |
|
This is the time of year when graduations are happening all around the country. If you are a recent graduate or if your children are graduating, what will they be doing afterwards? Will they be furthering their education and if so, how will they pay for it? If not, will they have to immediately go out and get a job or will they get time to relax and travel? My son just finished his first year and college. College is very expensive! I hope he gets a good job when he finally finishes.

| 1. shannykins (17) | 4 months ago | My daughter graduates in January... a semester early. We talked about what she wants to do....body piercing and hair. OK, that's fine, but to me that sounds unrealistic!! If that's what she truly wanted to do, then wouldn't she be working at some sort of salon? Wouldn't she be pursuing activities down that avenue now instead of serving ice cream? I expect her to go to college, and I made her take the ACT. I suggested getting a nursing degree, even a two year degree if she wanted to be a body piercer. Doesn't that make sense? I guess what we have to do is let kids (even big kids) make certain choices about life. Even if it's not what WE really want for them.

wachit14 (3244) | 4 months ago | I understand your frustration, but sometimes it takes a while for kids to find their path in life. Although my son is in college, my daughter is going to cosmetology school. That's what she wants to do and I won't stop her, but I would like her to maybe someday go back to college. It may not be my dream, but I've already had my chance to live out my own dreams.

4. beautyqueen26 (7429) | 4 months ago | My daughter is still years and years away from graduation. But when she is old enough to graduate school, I'm hoping that she will want to continue her education into college. That way she will be able to support herself and be self sustaining. That will be an important factor for later when she decides to start her own family. She will be able to help her family live a more affluent lifestyle because of her education and job possibilities.
