Does purgatory reallty exist?  |

 I am just curious about purgatory, if it really exist and we can pray for all the people who died, for their salvation then I think all will be save.

He would not let you linger in limbo (as we used to call it) until he thinks you good enough to get to heaven. That is something that certain religions have made up to scare it's parrisheners. Same thing can be said about hell. A loving God would not allow you to stay in hell for all enternity. This is just another tactic made up by certin religons which I refuse to mention. They know who they are. The bible itself says that the "dead are conscious of nothing"..."from dust you are to dust you shall return". When your dead your dead. There will come a day when God & Jesus will resurrect the dead & return them to their loved ones. Thats what Jesus was trying to show us when he was on earth & he proformed resurrections. I personally would rather listen to & believe in God's words rather then meer men.

How is it possible to pick and choose the doctrines you approve of and not all of the Scriptures? You can believe it or not but the Bible is no cafeteria plan.

| 3. Pose123 (3417) | 4 months ago |  Hi sircaido, Purgatory is not mentioned in the Bible but is an invention of the church. That doesn't mean that we cannot pray for those who have passed on. Some will tell you that it is too late to pray for someone after they have passed from this life, but I don't believe that either. If you are a person who believes in prayer, you may, according to your faith, help anyone. As none of us really knows what happens at death, we can at least have hope that more life will follow. There are some people who really don't want to go to heaven so they would never be ready. They would do only what they had to do to get out but would go back to their old ways. There will be a quick cleansing of the earth to rid it of sin, including Satan.

Are people who do not believe in judgement happier than those who do believe? I have often wondered if I would live differently if I did not believe in God. I would probably seek pleasures that aren't character building and think more about myself and what I can get out of life. I would probably still help others as that seems to be my nature but I probably wouldn't if only Satan ruled this world. | |

| edgyk8inmomma (1094) | 3 months ago |  Many make the same statement about hell. The translations are another lost in meaning. But the original words used for what we today call hell, were actually the grave, or hates...not a pit of fire burning for all eternity.
God told Adam that the consequences of his disobedience was death...ultimate death...gone...no more. In revelation He also tells us that in the final days all evil..people, demons, and Satan will be destroyed...not tormented for all eternity, but destroyed, wiped out, gone forever..no more.

| clowdine (885) | 3 months ago | What God told Adam was the fact that is happening now. People die. If he hadn't transgressed the law, we would have not experience death. That's what it's all about. If anyone thinks following God completely is such a hassle, they would only believe what is easy and comfortable for them to belief and practice and the result, they would imagine God did not say the exact words that scare them. But for those who love the truth, they will find out what it is and they will try to follow it no matter what.
Hell exists as what God says and it was written in the Bible. If the only punishment to the evildoers is just death or a wipe out without eternal torment, the Christians who have been trying their best not to fight back or avenge their oppression won't make sense. They are the most pitiful creatures in the world if that happens. But hell, being hate or wipe out to none is not what God says.
Proof:
Revelation 14:10-11
[10] The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
[11] And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Another proof:
Daniel 1:2
[2] And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Matthew 18:8
[8] Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
The verses above are just a few of the Biblical proofs that punishment is eternal and hell is what it is. | |

This was a place where all the unbaptized babies went. Limbo was canceled after a few years. The higher religious authorities said that limbo doesn't exist and all the sheep bleated in agreement.
Tomorrow they might say it has come back to existence and all the sheep will bleat in agreement. Your purgatory is something like that.

hmm..purgatory doesn't exist and it's not written in the bible..whether you search it in the old and new testament..it will not appear.. it just a big lie by the catholic..you have to pay a dollars just for you love ones will not suffer much pian..that's why catholic has a strange doctrines either..hmm..they're are not fully following the doctrines of Christ written in the bible..they just saying it by their mouth..but not in their works.. its only for the love of money..they make a strange doctrines purgatory, baptism, marriage etc.. its cost for money.. and some our devoted and die hard in that religion..hayz.. that's all i can say.. | |
