who would be MORE successful...STREET SMART or BOOK SMART?

This is kind of difficult. I think you need a little of both.

Hi Jhordie, I think street smart will be more successful than book smart. I don't know why but I have the feeling that this kind of stories favored the under dog team. If I'm not mistaken it happen also in real life.

But how do you rate Mr bill gate Ji, who recently laid down his office, after successful career with Big Empire, without much book-knowledge. That means, there are charcters, who can voilate rules as well, so I may go with them, as there is a adventure hidden in tehir progress. Food with spices. have a great day.

i think it depends on the situation you are in to. but if i have to choose 1 it will be street smart, since theory sometimes is different when you apply it in real life

I reckon the Street Smart group will win in all departments. How many times have we all heard the stories of normal, everyday people, make a resounding success of their lives.

Indeed, Sir Alan Sugar (Amstrad), the head of the English version of The Apprentice, came from a humble background and he is one of the most successful business people around.

The other thing which I reckon on is this:- when people come from humble backgrounds, they are invariably much more sincere, honest and warm, and I think this shows through - especially in business. I realise that this paragraph is likely to upset the silver spoon mob, but frankly, I don't care ... the truth hurts!

I do have heard that the practical experience is much better than theoritical knowledge. Actually when theory is implemented it becomes practical. Hence I feel those who have practical knowledge might be better than those with theorytical knowledge. Anyhow it also depends were there are to utilised or implemented. Book smart may be smart to give his knowledge to others were has street smart my do it for others. Anyhow both do have their own part but the real test comes when the job or target is ahcieved with better output.

I think today you need both to really survive and be successful but if I had to choose only one, I would recommend book smarts because no matter what anyone else says education is extremely important regarding success.

I think that this is a difficult one as one said before. But If I had to pick just one I would say street smart. You could know everything and be book smark but if you are unable to apply what you have learned in the book out in the streets then you will never make it. But, in my own opinion I think everyone needs a little of both to make it through life and be sucessful.
