Is McCain's Short Fuse Cause For Concern?

You know what, if he were having a beer with friends somewhere and joking around and used some raw language, that would be one thing but for someone to be qualified to be President he or she should be able to exercise some self-control and angrily calling colleagues on the Senate floor or one's wife filthy names in front of others doesn't impress me one bit, in fact it scares me. He's a loose cannon ready to blow.

If McCain's temper stood in the way of progress he wouldn't have made it in politics for so long. That incident was 16 years ago if it really happened.

16 years is a long time and something would have come up by now. That guy is just trying to sell his book which is probably based on lies.

I'm calling for the proof that John McCain said this,if any one has the link that will prove such a thing please let me know.
John McCain has a record that is close to being untouchable,he is very well known for standing up against pork spending that only servers to screw the hard working tax's payers.
These pork bills all line the pockets of who ever wrote them,John McCain fights up on the hill against these crooks and he has for many years.
John McCain knows he is not in a popularity contest,he stands on the side of life with in the womb and marriage is only between a man and a woman.
John McCain's feet stands firmly on the ground of human decency and morals.
As most Americans see the United States rolling down hill like a snowball and rolling faster every passing day.
John McCain stands if alone on moral issues fighting for what is left of good in this country.
Cindy McCain is John McCain second wife,it is reported John McCain and his first wife are the best of friends and his ex wife has publican stated she admires her ex husband greatly.
Few men that I know have ex wifes such as John McCain's,I think this in a nut shell reveals who the man it.
Far as his temper so far he is doing just great,he has been attacked time again and he has handled it so far with much dignity.
John McCain when he is attacked or even questioned about something he dose not call the race card like someone we all know dose every time.
John McCain stated ten years ago he did not think it would be the time to drill for oil.
Ten years ago in the United States people really had very little concern about the price of gasoline.
With the changing of time John McCain's view today is yes,we must drill for oil,but because he is a moderate environmentalist he hopes we can preserve some of our nations treasures for future generations to enjoy as we have.
The left wingers say John McCain has flipped-flopped on the issue, no he has not, but what he has done is change with the changing of times,this in my eyes is a very good thing.
I for one American will not be voting for any hip cool rock star with little to no experican
the United States has far to much on the line for that.
I will be casing my vote for John McCain because I can trust when he answers the red phone at 3 A.M. in the morning, he would die before he would sells out his country in which he has always been proud of and loved.

Bravo! He's also not for equal pay for women and we all know how he feels about a woman's right to choose. Anyone that would or could call his own wife that word has no respect for women or for himself. I'm no angel and I've been known to use the F-Bomb on occasion myself but there are some things that are just plain and simply beyond offensive. All I know is I don't want that man to have his finger on the red nuke button or to have access to direct contact with leaders of other nations who may want to aim one at us.

You two are both just buying into propoganda without researching the facts. There is no evidence whatsoever that McCain ever called his wife the C word. There is only one person making that claim and it's just some jerk trying to sell a book.

Annie, you should no better about him being for equal pay for women. Go ahead and check the stats on how much Obama is paying his female staff members compared to the male staff. Then check the payrates for men and women on McCain's staff. Then you'll see who is just pretending to be for equal pay for women.

I really don't understand why you think that I am buying into anything. I simply stated that being from a city where our mayor, and by the way the idiot is a democrat, is a hot head and has caused a lot of issues for the city. This mayor is the idiot that said we should move all the deaf people out by the airport because they are not able to hear the airport noise. He punch a citizen of the city that he got into an argument with and the man sued the city. He got into a verbal argument with an older gentlemen and caused the man to have a heart attack, yet another law suit for the city. These reasons that I have stated here are why "hot heads" should not hold public office.
As for the C-word I was unable to find a site that said that he didn't say the word but I did see where he refused to answer the question. So that leaves it open ended and one must draw their own conclusion.
Republicans have always been against a woman's right to choose so to me that is being against women's right. A man has the right to choose whether he is a father or not. And actually Obama is the only person in government that I have heard say that men need to step up to the plate and stop being absent fathers.
I am young and I am a democrat because I believe that the government should take care of the citizens of this nation. Republicans believe that we should leave this up to churches and whatnot, but they have no problem going into other countries to "better the people" so they can have democracy and fair living conditions. But, it's ok with them that there are citizens in this country to go to bed hungry, elderly and children to not get proper medical care, and for people to be denied the the basic rights given to them by the Amendments of the Constitution.

So with these reasons, this is why I have a problem with Republicans being in office.

Task, you may be right that there's no "proof" McCain called his wife the "C-word" but he didn't deny it. I'm all for people doing their research before making claims about people but how many Obama bashers here have posted link after link of these outrageous accusations without doing on shred of research? When it comes to Obama it would appear that if someone says something bad about him, no matter how unsubstantiated it is, it must be true, but when it comes to McCain there must be a video to prove he's ever said or done a thing wrong in his entire life. Someone with a KNOWN short fuse, whether a particular incident that someone admittedly put in a book and he may have figured that allegation would help him sell lots of copies is actually true word for word or not is not point. I want someone to answer that 3 am phone call who is cool under pressure and won't resort to calling other world leaders "f-ing a-holes" even if we all know that's exactly what they are! Do you realize that if he did call a woman from some other countries the C-word that could literally trigger World War III? That's only partly meant to be tongue in cheek!

Zephyr, I don't think the fact that McCain cheated on his wife 30 years ago has anything to do with Women's Rights. The National Organization for Women (NOW) supported Bill Clinton 100% despite his infidelity and despite allegations made by Paula Jones so clearly they don't see such things as women's rights issues either. You're actually the first person to refer to it as such. Abortion is a different beast entirely because people who are against abortion don't see it as a women's rights issue. To them it is a human's rights issue because it involves the rights of an unborn child. If it were purely about women's rights than no woman would ever be against it.

I'm not going to argue your reasons for being, or voting democrat because that's you're business. All your reasons are intelligent and well thought out. I may not agree with you, but then that's my business. Annie, I implore you to look at how much men and women on Obama's staff are getting paid. He is not for equal pay otherwise the men on his staff wouldn't be making so much more than the women.

Also, saying men should step up to the plate and stop being absent fathers is just a good sound byte. Those words are meaningless unless he takes steps to fix the problem. Deadbeat dads are selfish people who aren't going to be swayed by a sound byte.

Those are my thoughts exactly! We have some real nutcases running countries in this world so we especially need a leader with a cool head and some good diplomatic skills. No, I'm not talking about "appeasement" but we don't need someone whose mouth could easily one day lead to an "international incident"!

Personally I've only heard of this one particular incident from this one person but there have been many other incidents including on the Senate floor. About Ann Coulter...I think you know I wouldn't believe a single solitary word that b1tch ever said...lol. BTW, my personal opinion of her really has nothing to do with her politics but with the fact she is the biggest waste of human flesh ever born, or created or hatched or whatever she came from.

Odd, I'd truly thought an Ann Coulter quote would be given great credibility if provided. I hope you understand my point though. The guy is trying to sell a book and like so many other books, it's going to be filled with lies. The people who buy the books are the ones who want to believe lies held in books written by people like Al Frankin, and Ann Coulter. The guy obviously has no supporting documentation and provides no witnesses to the supposed event. It has as much credibility as that lame story about McCain pulling a diplomat out of a chair by his throat.

What is so lame about that? There have been many comments made by other Senators from both parties about McCain's temper but they're too loyal and "nice" to say too much because they are a close-knit group in the Senate regardless of party. I say "Where there's smoke there's fire" especially when there's this much "smoke". I just don't think it's worth taking the chance.

Anyone can say there were witnesses but he didn't name any and nobody supported what he said. Sometimes when lies are so blatant it's easiest just to ignore them. Responding to ridiculous claims often brings them into the light and everyone starts making up their minds rather than looking at the facts. He did flatly deny the claim that he grabbed a diplomat by the throat and other people present said it never happened. What's written in this book may not have even gotten enough notice for him to respond.

Did you hear about him filing for divorce from Minnie and when they were in court the judge told him he couldn't grant him a divorce just because Minnie's crazy? Now that's mature...lol! Who said anything about "hating" anyone, especially because he's old? However, "hating" someone and not thinking they're any longer capable of the handling the difficult job of being the POTUS are two very different things.
