Rising prices, no end?

Hello,.... You know this is the election year.the business people give donations to the political parties including the ruling parties.so they will take advantage making double the profit.they hoard the commodities and raise the price.the ruling parties have realised that they will not coming back to power next time .so they have raised the price of oil and cooking gas.and again they are going to raise the oil price.the supply of food articles have gone down and there is little expectation of a good harvest this year also.so price of all commodities are expected a further rise in the days to come.we can not escape from this situation.we can not expect the best from this government or the new government expected early next year.thanx.

to tell you the truth,if the price of oil would go down,then inflation should go down.i do not drive myself,but the price of gas is high. in some areas it is $4.05 agallon.

Like it or not we have to accept the reality that is affecting everyone globally. We have to change our mindset to spend as economically as possible as there seems to be no improvement as long as the fuel prices is not stabilized.

I am with you, but, it is also true that only individual has to adjust. Govt. will not do anything, no other country will also come forward to do, if they do, some tag will will be atatched, So what we can do. Make grevy little more watery, instead of two items, take one, instead of car, ultimately walk. It is individual to think. I just responded some one, exactly similar way. It was petrol and disel issue. You see, whenever there has been price rise, have we cut down our expenses. I would like to bring some alarming statistics. You said, you paid rs. 1000/- your share for internet, how much did you get after spending rs. 1000/-. If it was not Rs.10K, leave it immediately. It is not profitable. This is a simple example, where I could think of. Rest you can make yourself. have anice time.

Hi wordmax! It does worry me too my friend. Each week, the prices of rice, fuel and basic commodities increases. I live a frugal life too. My husband and I have given up using our car a long time ago and we just use public transportation or sometimes walk if the distance is not that far. I tried very hard with so much difficulty in making both ends meet. Just last year, rice was Php27/kg and now it is Php42/kg; sugar was Php 28/kg and now it is Php39/kg. I just stopped looking at the prices because it is really frustrating. I do buy fish and vegetables for our meals each day. I need to have a budget of Php20,000 monthly for us to eat decently and pay all our house bills but most of the time, our earnings will only be Php10,000 a month and sometimes less. It really makes me sad but there is not much opportunity for employment and business nowadays. Very depressing but I know one day I will have that golden opportunity once again.

Me too. The bad news for me is that I booked a car and a few days alter the price of oil increase, I think around more 50% and it really make me speechless. Sometime, I wish the world will change and help decreasing the price. I do not know how to cope and because of the increasing of the price I worked reallyy hard to find extra money through internet even though not so many success.

As long as we continue to rely on oil there will be no end to price increases. We must shift to alternative energy sources.

I'm not sure what you mean here by inflation rate...are you talking about an adjustable rate on your house? Or just general cost of goods?

I try to cope by investing in stocks that give me a dividend, and by shopping at discount stores and garage sales. I have not made any major improvement on my house in a really long time. And I save as much money as I can in my savings account and in my stocks.

Hello dear wordmax. It is really very discouraging that the price for everything is on the rise and rise and rise. I am wondering when the economic recession will stop. I am looking forward to its getting better some day soon as it makes us suffer a lot from the recession.

yes i am worried too as my income is stagnant and price of commodities is rise steadily, might have to look for part time job
