1. venksmoney (46) | 7 months ago | MS office is easier. You dont have think too mcuch with ms. You can fiddle with ms and you will learn everything. Star is not so simple. Learning with experimenting takes too long. I wont open a book for learning office. So my choice is ms office.

6. Muelitz (1041) | 7 months ago | I have not used star office but i was told that it is compatible with MS office and is very cheap. But there are some features or programs included in MS office suite that has no counterpart in Star office. The last time i checked there is no publisher-desktop publishing, access-database and e-mail program in star Office. But if don't use it you can go with the cheaper software if you have budget constraints.:)

7. eltmin (125) | 7 months ago | Hi Sanjayhm, I used to have MSOffice, but was fed up with versions after versions of windows/office release from microsoft. Yes, you will think that MS Office is user friendly, that's most probably because you are used to it. I have not used star office before, so I am not sure how is the performance of the software, but I am using Open Office, which is an open source software. It is fully compatible with MSOffice, It comes with a full package of spreadsheet, word processor, presentation and many other things. It also support direct export of your document to PDF, which is a good thing to me. At first, there is a bit of frustration when I migrate from MSOffice, cos some of the function are located differently, but give it a week or so, you will find that Open Office is a very user friendly and powerful software. And best of all, its free. Give it a try.

9. amitavroy (3450) | 7 months ago | my friend a lot depends on what you exactly want. see it is always not possible for us to buy the office suit and that does not mean that we cannot use it. there are means to do that but then they are not legal also. for home use if you use it i think then it is still not that much of a concern but you cannot do a business with a non licensed version. so that time you have to get authentic ones. but then if you want to save on the money for softwares then you can always go for the free version. i have that installed and i face no problems in dealing with files created origianlly in ms office formats. they do the same things as in the open source. so it is up to you. i would tell you that star office is great. try usong it and you will know what i mean

10. ProdigY47 (656) | 7 months ago | I'd rather use MS-OFFICE than STAR OFFICE. MS-OFFICE has far more better features than STAR OFFICE. Also that most companies use MS-OFFICE for their business purposes and documenting.
